3/4 ton or 1/2 ton how to tell?

Hand punched plate inside says 3/4 But guy I bought it from said 1/2 ton. There are extra springs in back. The serial # doesn't match anything but does look lime start of some engine #s which may make it a 230?  How to tell if it's a 218 or 230? Sorry newbie questions.

If it has 15" rims with a 5 on 5 bolt pattern it's probably a 3/4 ton. what is the engine number ?

The pic you posted in another thread seems to be a 1/2 ton, at least in the front end

You sure it’s not in the inner door jamb zone drivers side and missed it?

is there a stamp on the frame like the "B" series? if so you might be able to use http://www.t137.com/registry/help/decode.php

Door jams are smooth. I've looked around the frame for stamps but I'm not seeing any. Could be looking in wrong area? Would I have to take fenders off to see it?

No sure where you are looking or if it is the same, but on my trucks the s# is lightly stamped up front on the drivers side (area above the rivets on this frame)

i can see that area with the fender on but the tire out of the way could make it easier
