grady hawkins
I can not find a time mark on the harmonic balancer on my 1948 Plymouth. Was there ever one put on the balancer??
linus6948
Mine took some scotch-bright pad cleaning and a strong drop-light to find under the layer of surface rust, but it was there
rekbender
The marks will look something like this.
Plymouthy Adams
as rekbender points out with his photograph, the marks are there but disguised with rust over the ages for the most part, you will need to scour it well, paint the area then contrast color the lines so they show easily with the timing light. Mine is very similar to his after a through cleaning and repaint...
greg g
Just time it with a vacuum gauge then you can put it at TDC for #1 on compression and the pointer should line up with the marks, probably between 4 & 6 degrees btdc.
