1946 Plymouth interior

So I came across this 1946 Plymouth sedan and was puzzled by the interior, I have seen many, many 1946 thru 48 Plymouth in my life and have never seen "stock" interior like this (the three pointed chrome star) and the way the "stock" interior has the accents around it. The interior was in very bad shape as you can see, but I bought the door panels because I have never seen anything like that. Any clues, help, info, on if this was a factory installed interior?

Can confirm the deluxe suggestion.  That's what mine looked like when I first got it.  Other differences were in the horn button, no horn ring, no chrome waterfall on grill, and wood look under dash switch panel instead of chrome.  Also door garnishes where without the small badge panels.

In 1948, my dad bought a '46 Plymouth Deluxe black two door sedan that was a Plain Jane model. I remember the dashboard was solid with no radio grille or Plymouth nameplate above like the Special Deluxe models that I had. His didn't have armrests on the doors like to model pictured.

My grandfather's P15S was the same as pictured. He bought it new in Feb. 49.

JC Whittney Add on accessory or picked from an old pontiac an addded to spruce it up a little. Just my opinion.

I have two P15 Special Deluxe cars.  My brother had a 1947 Deluxe model that someone gave him, as I recall.  (The deck lid and the surrounding body panel had been cut out to fix another car, no front clip, etc.  (I think it had been nose first into a creek to prevent washout.)  Anyway, before he scrapped it, I saved what parts I could.  I have two of these 'stars' and was wondering what they belonged to.  We are MoPar people, and it is hard to imagine how some other manufacturer parts would end up in my parts stash, so I think I'll vote with the guys who say it's standard on the Deluxe model P15.

I agree with the fellows about the P15 Deluxe.   They were the less expensive model and therefore had no arm rests,

the cheaper dash parts, etc.......and they also had only 9 inch diameter hubcaps whereas the Spec. Deluxe had 10 inch caps.

I took a closer look at the pic and believe its the original panel. My first look I thought it was a tarnished add on .

Amazing.  Find out new stuff every day, I had never seen that adornment, much less knew that was a standard P15 Deluxe item after poking around old cars for 40 years, until reading this thread today .  My only defense would be that I don't peruse the Plymouths that much, mostly Dodges.  No bias, just how it has worked out.
