My 1953 Job Rated does not have its bench seat it only has the frame that is built into cab.

What are some options for making or using another truck seat?

Exact replacement is almost impossible to find.

Take that frame out and get out your tape measure. There are plenty of seats that can be made to fit.

There should be 2 bolts at each corner that attach the seat frame to the riser. Pretty easy at this point with out the cushions.

It was more work, but I cut out the whole support and installed power leather bucket seats and a centre console, about the only bench seat you will likely find to fit will be mini van or suv, I think a new 1/2 ton bench would be too wide

If browsing at the salvage yard, pay attention to the floor of the donor vehicle as well.  A flat floor minivan bench should yield a closer fit than bucket seats from a contoured floor sports car, for example.  (I replaced the bench in my Dakota years ago with very comfortable Shadow buckets, but the seat angle was a little off cuz of the Shadow floor pan not being as flat as the Dakota's...lesson learned ⚠️Ya might need to mock up something to measure a comfortable seat height so your knees are not up in the steering wheel, then you should have the dimensions you need to find a donor.

my b3b had the wrong bench seat bottom in it. I pulled the frame and took it to the upholsters and had him make the seat fit the frame.

he built it on a plywood base.... I fabricated up some metal adjustment slots to attach it to.... that thing is solid!

Are there any springs in that lower seat or just foam over the wood base?
