DonaldSmith Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 jd52cranbrook (John Davies) took me up on my invitation to swing by when doing the DreamCruise. He and his wife stopped by this evening, and we admired each other's cars. I've got the huge DeSoto Suburban and he has the cool 52 plymouth sedan. We had a good visit. I'm glad they could swing by. John's been doing the DreamCruise since 2000. I'll see how many photos I can manage to post. OH, I forgot how. It's late. I'll try again tomorrow. Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Good to meet you too Don,,,, the car is very cool. I dont see many of them at all any more.. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Good pics, guys. Nice you were able to get together. That's one of the best things about owning these old cars.....meeting others with similar interests. Thanks for the post. Quote
greg g Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Nice looking rides guys. Don, your suburban is about the same colors I am painting my Studebaker Pickup. Bottom will be Seal Brown, hood and top of cab from the hood line up will be Putty. Combination looks good on your DeS. Good to see folks getting together with their old MOPARS. Enjoy the event, and drive carefully. Quote
Johnny S Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Thanks for the photos and glad you were able to get together. It's always fun. Quote
Johnny S Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 JD...have you posted a description in the past about how your car is set up? I'm interested in what you've done to apparently lower it. Nice look. And, what rims/tires/caps are you running? Quote
DonaldSmith Posted August 16, 2007 Author Report Posted August 16, 2007 Here goes, with the photos from my camera: 1. Don's DeSoto and and John's Plymouth. 2, John's engine. 3. John's dashboard. 4. Don and John standing at John's car. (Why stand in front of the car and block the view?) (I gotta figure how to get the photos larger. They're at max size per the paperclip thing.) Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 We should have took a pic in front of your car too Don. Don't know why we didn't. Went out again today to Woodward. Filling up fast. Today at my hotel three Reliable Car Haulers unloaded all these pretty GM trailer queens,,,, ,, (nice cars through, all with blowers, but I bet never have been on a track). The hotel rep walked over when he saw me and told me he liked mine best though, as it has seen the actual road,, lol Tonight Chrysler is putting on a party for the Prowler people, ( I use to own a 2000) in celebration of its 10 year anniversary. Dinner and dance at the museum. Gonna be fun. Click on the car,,, Quote
greg g Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Some times is is not the size or detail in the picture, but the nimber of pixels needed to convey the image that over sizes for the forum. I take pics at my cameras lowest sharpness setting. It seems to take fewer pixels for the rendering. You might want to adjust it down to see if it makes a difference. Quote
Tony_Urwin Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Taking pictures at a lower resolution is great if you want to fit more pictures on a memory card. You will be limited in how sharp an image you can display or print, however. If you have room on your camera's memory card, I suggest you use the LARGEST image size when taking pictures. This will limit how many photos you can fit on the card, but you have more options with the image after you download to your computer. If you are using Windows XP, you can open the images with Windows Photo Editor. From the menu bar, click on Image, then Resize, to modify the size of the image to fit your needs. Quote
Tony_Urwin Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 P.S. Great pictures (and great cars), Don and John. Quote
DonaldSmith Posted August 17, 2007 Author Report Posted August 17, 2007 My camera took the photo at 2272 x 1704. The last time I reduced it by 16 percent, to fit within 620 x 280, actually 373 x 280. this time I reduced it by 50 percent. Let's see, boys and girls, what happens: Hmm... didn't show up on the preview. Let's post it and see... Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Lots of nice cars. I like the diversity. http://s148.photobucket.com/albums/s40/jd52cranbrook/1952%20Plymouth%20Cranbrook/Woodward%202007/Friday%20day%20and%20night/?bulkComplete=1187407431671 Quote
