Frank Elder
It is a serial number, VINS started in the 60's....the serial number will tell you when and where, but not what options you have.
Dodgecoupe47
Yes you are correct. Sorry I ment serial number. Do you know which # represents what? So I can find out more info on the car? Thanks
Plymouthy Adams
the body serial number is the sequence of the build.....the tag on the firewall is the body number as shipped to Dodge...means nothing as to options and such....the engine number is also stamped on the frame rail..usually this is the identification number on most original titles. If your car was Canadian your firewall tag would include a tad more data like paint codes...
busycoupe
Per the D24 reference info on this site on the pull down menu, a serial number beginning with 31 means the car was built in Detroit in 1948. It may have been mistakenly registered as a 47 at some time in the past.
Plymouthy Adams
many times a car was registered (first title/registration) in the year is was bought..DMV's in those days lead to many confusing documents....
