I know your drive......but even if you got the code, the very formula of paint has changed since this stuff was mixed back int he day and any and all paint jobbers will tell you if they are honest that their match is just that, a match that is close.....I have chased paint codes through many of the major manufacturers and each paint rep at the home offices have given me the very reply that I just gave you....

I think nail paint would look fine but it chips easily and is not meant to last. I'm off to the Hooby Shop to have a look and will post my find. Thankyou everyone.

I used a fiberglass scratch stick to give the painted area some tooth for paint to adhere to.  Be very careful when using this.  Using it frees up miniscule particles of fiberglass shards.  I used latex gloves, long sleeves taped tight.  Used a small box as a work cabinet with a hole into which I put the hose from the shop vac which was running when I used the scratcher. It does a good job of getting rid of surface dirt and makes a good surface to paint..  I used toro lawn product red touch up in a spray can, spraying it into the can cap, then brushing it on with an artist brush. Still there 12years later.  Again strong caution on the use of the pen scratcher!!

I used the Testors red model paint on my 50 Meadowbrook and the match was....to my eye anyway....absolutely perfect.  Been on several years and looks fine.  I did put a coat of synthetic car wax over it.
