The car looks nice especially the rare factory cowl mirrors.

Yes they are for looks only and hard to get on and off.

I need a right side. Tough to find.

I had a set of originals on my 1947 Desoto.  I took them off and sold them to my buddy with a 1946 Chrysler T&C that wanted them.  In the case of the 1947, there is a trim part that goes in place of the mirrors. On the '49, as far as I know, there is no trim that goes in place of the mirrors.  I could have welded the holes shut, but, I did not think of it at the time. Wish I had...

 

I have been looking for a set as a back up for 4 years.  No luck.

There are 1950 Chrysler convertible/hardtop  NewYorker pot metal chrome trim pieces that will cover the two mirror stud holes for the 1949 Chrysler Desoto cowl mirrors.
