This is for you fellas with the big trucks, I have been wanting one of these to use...not shine and show.....or turn into a road grader, but actually use as intended for hauling.

Are there forums out there for these big guys and publications that cater to the sales of such???

I don't want somebodies 35,000 dollar finished product, but more like it runs poorly but looks like scrap...lol. I'll take it from there, :)  :D   :o . Thanks for all answers.

Wish you were close (NE Seattle) I could sell you a B-3-JA170   2-1/2 tonner dump bed.

40 miles an hour? A old set of May-Pops ...a 2 week or longer drive?

That's a real road trip Frank!

Great trucks, not very highway friendly but a lot of fun to drive as long as you're not in a hurry.   Will definitely haul their rated capacity and then some.

No, I stay as far away from Georgia as possible......lol! From the Meridian airbase, I took thirty days leave and had about 3 left when I got Houston, I was in no rush and lost around 25 lbs and gained about 7 new friends along the way. It would make a decent short story.

Fire ants, jim beam, 74 caddy, irate wife, pigs everywhere, and the way people on foot get treated good or bad.....there is a difference to how you present yourself.

I would suggest clean shaven with manners.....but be ruff and gruff when the need arises.

aaaroaddog here, aka Charlie Stephenson (Newbie) If that RED 4 ton is a hydraulic lifter 377, o ? and for sale, I would like to talk. 5152767877 Des Moines, IA. Washington State Zen Master, I really want to talk, about the dump truck, I assume it is road worthy and drivable. Been wanting a 377 51 to 53 for years. Not desperate - but very enthusiastic about owning just a complete engine with air cleaners, running or not crack block -head. It would look nice next to my 331 in it's own engine stand.

Any one out there that has a 51 to 53 377 with hydraulic lifters please call me.

Please me to correct myself, I do know how to spell ONE and I know that 33 & 34 Plymouths didn't have "number cars".

Any B 4 Y, B 4 T, B 4 W, B4 V 377 cid engine. Not interested in a 413 cid.

The New Picture is of just what I wanted, Need some sheet metal ??? The B 3 YA 5 speed double reduction differential arrived May 27, 2016.

Am I reading that correctly Charlie? You want the 4 ton JUST for the motor to sit on a stand next to a 331?

Kind of like buying the Mona Lisa for just the frame.

I really like "Washington State Zen Masters" collection! Go to a scrap yard if you need a trophy, don't scrap a piece of art. (Anywhere)

i don't think there are any forums that specialize in the bigger dodges.  this forum works pretty well, though, especially thanks to bob.

mine's probably about what you want, as far as a place to start.  it isn't pretty, the sheetmetal has been patched, it has a lot of bumps.  the frame is almost perfect, though.  i got lucky.  this truck was highly optioned.  triple overriders, two sun visors, 2-speed, fresh-air/heater, extra frame side-sill.

if'n i were looking, i'd absolutely get one with the 2-speed rear end (which mine has).  makes it much more road-friendly.  i can cruise around 45 to 50 comfortably, still puts it under 3200 rpm.  the later years in the p-h series have a bigger motor than my 237, but it works fine.  the dump body is usefull, and as mike (fowler) points out, these trucks will carry WAY more, comfortably, than they are rated for.

midwest is a great place to find one that has been in grain service on a farm forever.  mine came from michigan.  craigslist is a good place to look, too, using expanded search options.

couple more pics.  edit: i know the window winders are not original, none came with the truck.  but i found some vintage ones that look decent and work.

also, i had mine shipped from michigan to nh.  granted, it was about 2007, and it cost about $1k with tolls.

This site is for the 2-1/2  to 3 ton W-series heavy dodge trucks. Not a very active site but the only one i have ever run across that is just for the "heavy" dodge trucks with 10 lug wheels and Moly Block engines......https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/largerdodgetrucks/info

I'm going to have to ask those of you who want to sell your trucks to contact me PM style.........Otherwise we will have to move this thread to the want ads. Please continue to post examples if you wish or publications that cater to these larger brethren.

I thank you, and the moderator thanks you. :)

Wow guys, nice trucks and thanks for all the information. I would like to be able to carry at minimum 2 ton payloads, I'll keep searching.

my truck, 1.5-ton nominally, easily carries that size load. i've had 3 tons of ice blocks for a load, and the same for cordwood.

i posted a c/l link in the ebay c/l forum for you.
