will do, might be a few days..... Hey THANKS for the "bling bling"

I had "new" glass for my the first truck, wish i measured it before i installed it. on this truck i measured 1/4" attachicon.gifglass thick.JPG

i am not 100% convinced thicker glass would compensate for the coverage on that pinch weld lip of the gasket attachicon.gifcoverage.JPG

like JT said was an issue with "Steel" back in the day, i'm thinking the pinch weld lip just isn't deep or wide enough.....but that still doesn't account for the holes being way off

i am wondering if this is a vendor issue between Roberts and Clesters? maybe Clesters is giving Roberts "seconds" or accidently sending them the wrong product :)

I don't see how thicker glass would greatly affect the amount of seam covered.  That is really a function of how the rubber is formed and how big it is.  Thicker glass will push it OUT but not down much (if at all).

The holes in my Steele gasket lined right up, no problem.  Could it be there is an "upside down" installation that offsets the holes?

Not thinking so, seems like the gaskets had the small and large "radius" moulded into them so when you lay it out it made sense. I did try and flip the outside division bar both ways and it still didn't work. ( for some reason I thought the holes on the outside bar were evenly spaced so it would work both ways)
