My mechanic is doing my brakes, and he says he needs the front axle wheel bearing dust cover cup. Simple thing. But there's no place that sells a mundane piece like this anymore for vintage cars, at least I couldn't find a place. Any ideas? Ed

I needed one for my zero turn mower. I took the one I had to a New Holland dealer & he had one that fit. That said, an auto part store, a tractor supply or possibly a trailer supply might have one.

I lost  mine in the truck a couple weeks ago when the hubcap flew off at 50mph. Took a ford cup, cut it a bit to resize it then finished it off with muffler tape to seal it. Ground it back a little to fit. Cheap as chips.

Very interesting, but I forgot to mention that this is for a car, not truck. Will that make a difference? Ed

Very interesting, but I forgot to mention that this is for a car, not truck. Will that make a difference? And, I called a couple of NAPA stores in my area, Hamden, Ct., and they don't recognize the number. Hmmm. So, I went on ebay, punched in the number, and it showed that item, made by Belkamp, for $9.99, free shipping. Ed

Sorry, I transposed #'s in my post.  # was correct in the linked thread.

730-2409    About  $1.99- $2.09 at NAPA

Thanks for the correction. My napa store has it, and, again, it's for my car, not truck, does it make a difference? Ed

I do not know for certain, but the car hub measures 1.927" (+ or -)

The NAPA cap spec  is 1.93"

Slight relief provided by the 2 slots cut in the cap per the pic in the link in post 2 should make it a go.

$1.99 + tax :D  and a trip to the store :)

Edit: forgot the measurement pic

I don't think there is any difference in appearance between the car and truck item.......just possibly the

size......depth and circumference.  Can you measure the remaining one to determine those numbers?

I put in Google the search term "grease dust cap" and lots of places came up.

Also.....try eBay under whatever search you wish to put in.

End of the thread in the link that I posted seems to show that the part # is the same for both, well at least the lighter trucks.
