I understand all that but can you post a better picture of her?

Appears to a nice 49 Ply. grille ( at least) before the move to scrap!

What a waste!

I'll be the devil's advocate. Car has probably sat there a long time and no one has picked parts............so it gets scrapped for the value of the steel. We old Mopar lovers are a dwindling breed and unless you have gone to all the old scrap yards in your area and picked all the parts you can, don't complain when an old Mopar is scrapped. People have to make a living and can't hang onto stuff forever or until you need parts years down the road. There will soon be very few parts cars left for our projects so start picking now. I know of one old '51 Dodge around where I live and I have picked every usable part off it for my '51 project or to move on to other people in the future.

I much prefer to build than to pick, picking, removing parts is hard work, easier just to crush. I regularly scan the local CL and find that '50s cars of any make are listed less and less in just the few years I've been watching. Out here it's called the Plymouthy Adams Plague, but none know why it's called that. LOL

I think you run into 3 different scenarios:

1) too lazy to advertise/don't want to deal with pickers

2) can't let go of stuff for a reasonable price

3) already picked clean by the casual picker

too many places I've gone that are like #2....lots of stuff but the prices are so high they may as well not even say things are for sale.  YoungEd and I went to a yard like that a few years back in WI.  $60 for a trashed instrument cluster??!??!

Or places like #1...just could not bear to have something picked over when they were going to "clear out" everything the following year anyway, but didn't want to break up what was on the vehicle.  Again YoungEd and I ran into that a few years back.  I wonder what he did with all those vehicles?

Then there are places like French Lake as a #3.  Lots of vehicles but unless you HAPPEN to get there when it rolls in fresh not much left on it.  Luckily last year when we went Ed and I found a few fresh treasures!

I know where there are 2 Pilothouse Dodge trucks...I think pretty much complete too...been sitting outside in the upstate NY weather for many many years...I am afraid to even go look at them....I bet the rot is right up into the middle of the door posts...I bought one (an upstate outside stored NY Dodge truck) back about 8 or 10 years ago now...and it looked ok until I really got to look at it...pretty rough...I still wanna go snag them...

Both of them are within an hour and one is about 5 minutes....

I am really really squirmish of getting something that has been sitting outside in the greater Northeast area for years...the rot around here can be mind boggling to say the least....I have saved 3 older vehicles and the patch panels I had to buy for the last Chevy truck cab...I bought so many I lost track...I don't think anybody makes much for these older Pilothouse truck cabs...

I am actually thinking about looking more in the Southwest and Midwest area for something with less cancer than some local stuff. I will revisit them this summer and see what is left of them...

I have been on this site now for many many years..I have seen them come and go and I have seen cars advertised for sale and the majority of the members say, got to get permission form the wife, no room, need money, if only it was closer...so in truth..you have done exactly what you have meant to do with the hobby and saving old cars..you get what you can or are allowed by the words of many here....look on the bright side...for every car crushed..that adds value to the survivor..you may well in the end if you live say another 125 years be sitting on a very desirable vehicle..but don't hold your breath...

Even if they aren't restorable you could salvage the good parts.

I've been doing it as far back as I can remember. When I was little it was almost exclusively 51-52 Plymouths for parts for Dads convertible.
