New radial tires that look like bias ply

They have now come out with a radial that looks like the bias plys used on the old cars.

Here's a picture of one from the Universal tire catalog

Coker and Diamondback also have versions.     Look up their websites.

Has anyone tried these yet?

Diamondback is definitely the way.  A quality product versus the alternative.  That's confirmed by several friends who finally went to Diamondback after poor luck with the other guys.

If memory serves the Diamond back is a current production "major mfgr" tire with a vulcanized white wall.  A quality product used by many high end builders and restorers.  When you call them, the guy who owns the place answers the phone, even on Saturday, and conveys a great customer service attitude.

And, radial tires on an older car is a vast improvement.

I bought a set of Diamondbacks about 2 years ago for my 53 plymouth. They look great, and unlike the Cokers I put on my 40 Dodge.

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to get it in shape to drive yet, but next week I'm going to put them on this Airflow I just bought, so I'll be able to report how they drive soon.

I will say, they do look like quality and the people were very pleasant to work with.
