So let's pose another question. While I im getting the head just because I like the look and I haven't seen another 230 head. Let's talk intake. Edgy or Offenhauser?

Far far do you want to go with building a flathead motor? He's built then up as far as full on racing!

If ya got the dough!

All up to you and your wallet! :D

up to you and your wallet is right..but for dependability it is up to you and your driving style that dictates the ultimate build...if you not going to horse it to heck and back there is no need to build it for that purpose...

Wow. That's some serious power. I'm not going too radical but gonna have something fun. I already did a complete frame off one ton for my dad. Now gonna have a little toy daily driver. Does anyone else make a head? I haven't seen one.

Is there somewhere else to learn more about what services he offers and some detail on his products? I have seen his web site but there isn't much info there.

Jeff

I am running an Edgy reground cam in my engine,

I have Edgy valve covers, head and dual intake with two 94's, dual cast headers and Pertronix ignition on a 53 218 in my daily driver 39 Plymouth PT81. Looks great if not a little grubby now, goes really well (I do now need a new clutch) but I went for the intake as well as i think it's the best looking one available and I like things a little different.

Was a bit nervous drilling the bypass hole in the head but combined with ARP studs all went well.

Did you buy the cast headers from Edgy?

No, although I'm sure I would have if he'd made them. I got them from Langdons Stovebolt, arrived nice and quickly but not cheap to ship to the UK!

I'm running a Sharp dual carb intake to match my Edgy head & valve covers with Langdon's headers & HEI on my 201. Haven't touched the cam yet, probably in the future. The head/valve covers took about 3-1/2 months to get & well worth the wait. I had the fins/sides of the head polished after I got it. If I remember correctly, the stock studs/bolts for the valve covers were too short for the Edgy valve covers, so I used all thread, cut to length & new nuts/washers.

The mods were done at different times & nothing documented, but it sure "feels" like it runs better......here are a couple pics:

**EDIT** I know this is the truck forum, but mine is a '38 Coupe.
