RIP Don Bunn

Recommended Posts

Never had the chance to meet him. Lived here in the cities but he was already pretty far into his health issues. He's in a better place. He lives on in our hearts and trucks.

Well If you think about it the cool thing about being an author is that every time one of us picks up his book......he comes alive. :)

For those of you that have not read his book........you are missing out on a some very interesting aspects of these trucks. I can't imagine not having a copy as there is information and insight in it you won't find anywhere else.

I really learned a lot over the years referring back to his book many times.  He did all of us a great service through his research.  I hope he's at peace.

Don called me up prior to one of the Mopar in the Park event, back when it was at the racetrack. He looked me up and then we toured the show. He was a pretty interesting tour guide although he used the term, I don't remember a lot of detail. The next year Mopars in the park moved to Farmington where it was this year. There were 5 pilothouses that year, and Merle won a big TV in the drawing. Don Bunn came with his son and greated all of us and posed for a few pictures. His son said that this was his last outing and was heading for memory care soon because mom couldn't handle him any more. He will be missed.

What a HUGE contributor to our "hobby"!

i more than likely, would have given up without his commitment to our small slice of Dodge. (and this forum..... ;) )

Many thanks Don Bunn!

Unfortunately I was out wandering, looking at vehicles when he came around and I didn't get a chance to shake his hand. Sure would have liked to have that chance. I do remember you talking about it when I came back to the trucks, Dennis.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was just on Amazon trying to figure out which of his two books to buy for my '53. He definitely lives on and will continue to do so.
