Darbone85737 Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 The casing on the cable in my car (1949 P18) is shredded. Any idea as to where I might find a new cable ? I haven't had parking brake that worked decently on either of my P18's. The problem had been oiling of the brake linings caused by rear main seal leaks. This engine is being rebuilt so I'm hoping to have an effective parking brake Thx Larry Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 Not much has changed in forward brake cable on the Mopars and some can be retrofitted with modern production parts...I have attached to my original 48 hand brake the forward cable from the 2004 Dodge Dakota..it is a bolt in on the handle...over the years the attachment collar and clamp really has not changed..
