mrwrstory Posted September 29, 2015 Author Report Posted September 29, 2015 (edited) I'd love to share a sound clip but my brain is not currently up to the challenge of figgerin how to do that. I'm okay with pics but have already forgotten how to do a video. Perhaps I can oblige after my world settles down a bit. - - - - for 40plyrod Edited September 29, 2015 by mrwrstory Quote
Ulu Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Pretty stout looking chassis there. Still I bet that Hemi can wind it up like a spring when you launch hard. Anyway, my hemi-envy meter is on eleven right now. Quote
40plyrod Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Very cool! But don't you think you should keep more fuel in it, it is a hemi after all Quote
Niel Hoback Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 I think you're gonna need a new trophy case. 1 Quote
William Davey Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Very cool! But don't you think you should keep more fuel in it, it is a hemi after all He used up all the fuel putting that 89,000 miles on the odometer! Quote
mrwrstory Posted October 1, 2015 Author Report Posted October 1, 2015 This is at 300 miles including 50 or so miles of off and on crumby running carburetors. Yielded average 14 MPG. I'm figgerin a good 18 MPG when it's sorted out. 2 Quote
mrwrstory Posted October 8, 2015 Author Report Posted October 8, 2015 Maybe,.......some day! Finally got the car where I am reasonably confident I won't die in it. Leaving in the morning for almost a 3K mile round trip. Meeting a buncha Canucks in NoCal then touring the Oregon coast, Columbia River Gorge, the Redwoods and Big Sur. Be back online in about 10 days 3 Quote
40plyrod Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 Have a safe trip, want to see some pictures in the "view from the driver's seat" thread when you get back! (we're a demanding bunch ain't we ) Quote

mrwrstory Posted November 17, 2015 Author Report Posted November 17, 2015 have fun be safe, yes pics pics pics,,,, Pics are on page #8 of "from the driver's seat and other images" And here's a wrap on the Hemi,........ Trip, 3K miles, went pretty much w/o a hitch except for the new electric fuel pump failure. Not bad for a new build ,..and by an amateur at that. I'm pleased and relieved that it held together. Since returning home it is now running on all three carbs. Still tight but up to 15 mpg after 3 oil changes and 4K miles. Part of the Roadster Refresh was also the conversion to cowl steering. That works pretty well too 'tho I'm the first to say it makes no sense, except.......for the cool factor. Since the cowl steering project is so far Off Topic for this forum I have recorded documentation of it on the HAMB for any who may be interested. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/cowl-steering-first-time.996254/ Quote
