BobT-47P15 Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 Looks great. (Were those originally Pontiac wheel covers?) Quote
navyboy Posted February 25, 2014 Author Report Posted February 25, 2014 honestly not sure about the wheel covers, Been looking to get spider caps even though lots of people like them. Quote
pflaming Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 That engine color is really eye catching. What color name and what type. Just another amazingly striking color choice. Do you have pictures of it out of the car? Quote
navyboy Posted February 26, 2014 Author Report Posted February 26, 2014 Copper by vht. No out of bay shots was busy. Quote
navyboy Posted March 4, 2014 Author Report Posted March 4, 2014 I'm astonished so many like the wheel covers, I plan to go to spider caps. anyone know the bolt pattern for a 52? 5x4 1/2 or 5x4 3/4? need to know the correct fitment thanks. I wish I knew what the covers came from when I go to sell them but will be asking cheap. Quote
navyboy Posted March 4, 2014 Author Report Posted March 4, 2014 just a quick thanks for the interest in the hubcaps was thinking of listing them on ebay with the other stuff I just listed but good people here seem to like them, I do get compliments though. any word un a lug pattern? Quote
pflaming Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Mine off a 53 plymouth: 15", 2 3/4 stud to stud; 4 1/4 stud 1 - 3. I should know the terminology but someone else can add that. Quote
Dave72dt Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Should be a 4 1/2" bolt circle. 4 1/4 from 1-3 will yield a 4 1/2 circle since 1 and 3 are not directly across from each other. 4 3/4 is GM Quote
navyboy Posted March 4, 2014 Author Report Posted March 4, 2014 So we have the shoebox ford pattern lol. I just want to make sure it would be correct. So 5x 4 1/2. Quote
Dave72dt Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Not just on shoeboxes. Both Mopar and Ford used that pattern for years after. Be aware that the center hole diameters of the rims may be different between brands. If I remember correctly, they're close and one brand would fit either, the other would only fit it's brand correctly. They would be a really tight fit on the hub and came off hard. Quote
navyboy Posted March 5, 2014 Author Report Posted March 5, 2014 Hey thanks. Im now addicted to the stuff available for our cars on ebay lol. I was outbid on a factory dash clock so now im checking out a radio lol. Quote
BigDaddyO Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 MoPar will fit Ford Ford will not fit MoPar. Center hole is too small. Quote
FESTER60 Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Way cool. I am planning the same thing for my overflow bottle. I may have to empty a few more just be be sure I have the "right" one. Quote
navyboy Posted March 5, 2014 Author Report Posted March 5, 2014 Got the spider caps today, went through shoebox central because they are just down the street from me and sell the nice ones, not the crap ones I see on ebay with set screws that people complain about. Quote
knuckleharley Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 MoPar will fit Ford Ford will not fit MoPar. Center hole is too small. I'm pretty certain I have Ford wheels on the 56 DeSoto out in the yard, and on my 33 Plymouth. Quote
mrwrstory Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 I'm pretty certain I have Ford wheels on the 56 DeSoto out in the yard, and on my 33 Plymouth. The center hole can be an issue, but not always. Diff. Ford wheels have diff. hole dias. and diff. Mopars have diff. hub dias. Sometimes it's not an issue. Sometimes it's only a matter of .030". Best do some checking before committing. 1 Quote
