Hi guys, this is my first post on here .

Does any one know where I would be able to purchase a NOS Input shaft for a fluid drive in my 49 dodge wayfarer coupe?

When you have the OE part # the quickest way to go is to type it into Google or Ebay. So your needed input shaft part # 957859 which brought up......http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nos-Mopar-1941-54-transmission-main-pinion-shaft-/310706882299

This one was on ebay for $74.00.

Len Dawson (aka Deception Pass Motor parts) has one too plus I located a couple more NOS ones.

Note If you do use Collectors Auto Supply you will usually be paying EXTRA for them to buy a part off ebay or from Len Dawson or Frank Mitchell ect.

Welcome to the forum Rob. I didn't realize that you were here in Oz. Have you tried Jim Robinson (Melbourne) or Les Sonter (Newcastle)? They would be you best bet here....

#957859 Input shaft or Main Drive pinion fits 1949 and 50 Dodge std 3 speed with fluid drive coupling. Will not fit Gyromatic cars.

(30T., 19T., 13 11/16" lgh.) (w/Fluid Drive)

The NOS one on Ebay is correct for the base line FD Wafarer  Dodge cars.

You might also try George Asche...814 354-2621

I have an NOS  long shaft but I won't be back until the first week of Feb. and won't know until I get back what it is for. If you haven't found one by then let me know and I'll figure out what mine is. I'm pretty sure it had part numbers on it so it won't be hard to tell.

I forgot to tell you Rob, if you strike out with Jim or Les here in Oz then try John Biddle from Antique Motor Spares in Wingfield SA (08)8268 5540. He reckons that he's too old to learn the internet thing (so you have to ring him). I have found him very knowledgeable, most helpful, and very reasonable price-wise.
