A Day Of Mopar Picking

Recommended Posts

YoungEd and I spent a day picking MoPaR parts up by Brainerd.  In the next several posts you'll see what we saw.  I'll try and group them nicely...and YES, we did find some stuff for you guys at a nominal fee.  But sorry, no grill bars for anyone but me...and they are pretty roached.  More on that later.  So far only one tick found...the g/f has to check me over tonight....rats!  :o

I got a set of 40-47 truck doors, gauge set, cowl lights, windshield regulator, and ignition switch with matching key to the door lock. Few other odds and ends. The same as Mark I didn't really find anything I was actually looking for but managed to come home with some great stuff.

Looks like you and Ed did pretty well Mark. That's an unusual looking cab-over truck. Thanks for sharing the photos.

I'm trying to think of somewhere that I can go to have the wifey check me all over for ticks!

Most interesting "vehicle" for me was this 1948 worthington tractor. As you can see it appears to be made from either an entire cut down 41-47 dodge or Chrysler obtained parts. Flathead powered with truck trans. Unique gauge pod.

alrighty...the booty:

Extended hood: for me for TODD

Beat up 51-53 grill bars: so far for TODD

Electric wiper set up:  TODD again

Interior windshield bezel w/ defrost:  sorry, TODD

Defrost ducts: TODD

for sale:

2 interior division bars: to be modified for mirrors and for sale

B1/B2 parking light door and glass

control cable ends (to be cleaned up and made long and sold)

B1/B2 gauges/speedo (Keven first dibs)

48-50 door handle

51-53 door handle

head light buckets (someone was looking for a set?)

Coupla knobs...pretty roached but usable

Stamped driver door mirror (needs some TLC, we had to damage it to remove it, but repairable)

MATCHING door and ignition WITH key

random:

broken 51 grill badge, most likely wall art

odd ratchet screw jack

Passenger hood prop arm (TBD)

For FREE:

wood tick

sorry no other grill bars present to remove that were not totally shot.  Also we did see on visor, drivers side, and VERY toasty, so left.  The dumper I got the long hood off of he really didn't want to sell the hood off of as it runs, so we didn't pick that except for the hood he let us go for.  On that truck there was a ton of good stuff, but not allowed to pick.

What model/year was the big Dodge dumper? 10 bolt budds or cast spoke wheels? Pics?

Did the BIG dodge have twin carbs?

Nope. I'll add some pics of the engine compartment.  Notice how the inner fender has the extra sheet metal to account for the larger fenders and hood.

it's a mid year model 2013 tick, unfortunatly I've promised it to ram man 02  ;)

Next time I go picking I'll see if I can find you a good one if you haven't found one yet.
