JimH47Coupe
I changed the oil yesterday and I have a leak at the top of the removable oil canister bolt. Is there supposed to be a gasket sandwiched between the bolt and the filter housing? A part number would be hugely beneficial as well! Thanks! Jim H. RobertKB
Yes, there should be a gasket there. Any decent auto supply store should be able to find one for you. Just take your bolt to them to check for size.

RobertKB
None of mine are copper. Kind of like a very hard rubber or soft plastic. Soft rubber will bind when the bolt is tightened down. If you explain what it is for, they should be able to figure it out. Good luck.

JimH47Coupe
It should come with the new filter.......fiber or copper will work I used a WIX filter this time around. What brand do you typically use that is included with? Jim H.
Solution Jerry Roberts Posted April 14, 2013 Solution Report Share Posted April 14, 2013 Rick might be thinking of the gasket that seals around the outer rim . My center bolt has a coper washer but hard plastic or hard rubber would probably work fine . A hardware store would also be a good place to look . JimH47Coupe
Added a copper wash. All fixed, went for a 100 mile test drive Thank you! Jim H.
