Need A Fuel Tank Part.

I did something real dumb. I had the ring that holds the fuel tank sending unit in my 53 Plymouth laying in the console of my Dodge dually. I sold the dually. I didn't get the ring out of the truck.  When I remembered my screwup, I called the buyer and it had been cleaned out.

 

If anyone has a ring from a tank that isn't usable, or just a ring they won't use, I'd gladly pay for it.

 

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing there is a broad range of years and cars (and probably trucks) that would fit it.

I know that the '63 D200 I had used a locking ring to hold the sending unit on the tank. How long did they use that ring and did it change over the years?

Decades, and you can buy them new in the Help! section at your generic parts house. May have to be ordered, the Help! book has a zillion items in it.

I'll check with NAPA this week.

And, 54Illinois, I'm taking it apart now to sandblast the body, so the parts aren't that time critical. I do want them, though!

Sounds good.  I have some heavy duty cardboard so I may wrap it seperately from the battery holder.
