Well, its withy some sadness that I helped load my 1941 Plymouth ASC Coupe onto a trailer and watched it head off to a new location 1600kms away...........have owned it 6yrs and un fortunately things are a little tight money wise so it pulled the short straw............I still have my 1940 Dodge Sedan and if its o/k I'd like to still be a member of the forum, even tho the Dodge is a hotrod, albeit one I've owned for 41yrs and its had its 318 Poly V8 since 1973.........I have recomended the new owner join this forum............andyd

If the price of admission to this forum demanded a bone stock car then there wouldn't be much of a forum to belong to.  I'll bet 99.5% of the cars on this forum are non stock in SOME way.  So I don't see a problem with your '40. And...50% of something is better than 100% of nothing.

Sorry to hear of your loss.....been there myself.

Sad news indeed AndyD. I rather preferred the old Plym to the Dodge. I look forward to meeting the new owner here. He picked up a gem of a car!

I hope to be down your way June/July. Will be in touch before then.

Andy take a look at the top posters and think of their cars. You'll fit in just fine!

Andy;

With the sound advice you have given forum members over the years you are welcome here even if you did not own an old Mopar. Sorry you had to thin the herd but as the old saying goes, stuff happens.

Andy,

Sorry to hear you found it necessary to part with the Plymouth.Good to hear you're keeping the Dodge.Hope things improve..Ralph

now how many members do we have that still have an ASC coupe?   understanding the thinning of the heard...I could well use some thinning just for the space...but as we all know..that would give me room to acquire something different is all..now you not split between the two cars..more can be done to the one...

Stick around Andy, this would be a lesser place without you.......Like has been said in proir post, " there are not many STOCK cars here anyway".

I like the fact that there are both stock and modified here. There is no "creed" shoved down one's throat.  I have found by personal experience that those sites that do have a creed have broken it so  many time that they are numb and unaware of their hypercritic actions.  I have cars that fit both categories...as with most folks here..you do what you wish with your car as it suits you..

if its o/k I'd like to still be a member of the forum,IMG_1372.JPG

Now that's a dumb question. Just because you sold your car there isn't any reason that you should feel that you can't chime in on this forum. I would hope that you would stick around to give your opinion to anything that you have had experience with on your car. The younger generation needs your imput when and if they should ever come asking this forum what to do! I hope that this forum as a whole feels this way. Too bad you had to sell the Plymouth, but you gotta do what ya gotta do. Stick around! Maybe another Plymouth is on it's way to ya!

Rack off with your yabber, we had a fill of your earbashing any way!!!!  Just kidding, you would be good to go here even if you had to sell both of them.

Stick around Andy, I always enjoy reading your posts.  Sorry you had to thin the herd.  Once my son got married and they had a baby, he sold his 1951 Chevrolet 4dr sedan and his 1968 Chevy one ton dualie to help pay bills.  He had the '51 for 13 years and the '68 for five or six years

It's too bad you had to sell your coupe, its a beauty. But you're not going anywhere. Once this forum gets a hold of you, its permanent. If you find yourself twitching and sweating, its because you haven't posted enough lately.  You WILL hang around here. Thats an order. Posting is mandatory.

Sorry also Andy, hard to let go, once we have these old Mopars. I am in the same boat, have my 47 Chrysler for sale, times are extremely tough in our home. I have owned the car since 1988, and brought here back from the dead starting in 2005, 95% of the work myself, with most help and direction from members of this forum..

It does bother me to great deal to do this, but you gotta do, what you gotta do. I will hang onto the 55 Fargo, and keep at it with Her....

Wow Fred, sorry to hear you are sellin.

Thanx Don, she is priced high to start, will see what happens, never thought I would have to do this, but times have been tough...

It is truly sad to have to part with a car - the good news is if you know the buyer and you know it's in good hands that should be some comfort. I mean it's not like it's going to the crusher.

Sorry to hear that news, Fred.  Same goes for you as for Andy.........please stick around after the coupe departs.

After all, the Fargo is still an old Mopar.

(OT completely........man, that was an interesting prison break a couple days ago in Canada by using a helicopter)

(I gather the criminals were re-apprehended fairly shortly, or at least one was.)

I let my 48 Dodge go to a new owner. I did not have to. I did not want to.

My friend, JC, asked me many, many times to buy my 48.

JC went to cruise-ins every saturday all summer with me.

He drooled over the 48 every time he visited, and told of what he

would like to do with the 48, have it painted to original, drive it to

all the cruise-ins, etc. I let him buy it at a low price, since he has

been a long time good friend, and going to keep the car close to original.

About a week later, he sold the car for

a big profit, to someone he knew for many years.

I have no ill-will to JC. I am making a new sign to put on the wall.

"Stupid",,,,,,,"Sucker",,,,,,,,works here...

You guys never know though, somewhere down the road you may get the opportunity to buy them back. It is rare but it happens. My dad sold his 41 DeSoto darn near after finishing it 100% due to tough times in the mid 90s. He got a phone call in 2005 from the the son to who he sold it to asking if he wanted to buy it back for the same price he sold it. Of course he bought it. The car only had 1,100 miles in the 11 years gone since being sold. It was like it never left. But I know it is very hard to sell one of your cars, I've been there. I was pretty upset when I had to sell one to help pay school bills. I am just hoping I can buy it back someday. Hope for the best!
