Looks to me like your shop supervisor was more interested in the comfort quality of the seat than the quality of the door construction :)

and being near dad and available for pets...

Weekend's work:

Modify the door linkage to use the inside handle where I want it and keep the sliding parts where they need to stay w/o hanging up.  Also the bearclaw connector addition.

Acid based primers were designed for places you can't reach with sand paper.....or really old cars with "hidden" rust.

pretty sure @ggdad1951 got this one :)

I personally do not have the air compressor volume to run a sand blaster, the rust converters I have used seem to work pretty good and happy to use them again ... after only a 1 or 2 year test, after applied.

The molasses does work good. I used a 20 gallon container and soaked my heater & a few other parts.

I believe the ratio is 1 gal molasses to 9 gallon water.  The heater doors were rusted closed and would bend the metal before they would move. A few days in molasses and operated just like new. Wash dry & paint.

Will only remove rust though, will not touch any paint left on the metal.

not much done last night, but with a lot of put in and take out and put back and take back out, but the pedal bracket now has all it's mounts.

After an order was placed in November....look what finally showed up!  4 days in shipping did this with (per UPS) 4 hand offs...one would THINK that they might be more careful.....nah lets toss it around a bt more....monkeys...also for almost $800 you'd think a better packaging system could be used....

Visiual inspection showed some fins tweaked and a small straight blade was used to re-align as best I could.  I plan a quick pressure test to assure not damaged.

Hope it turns out OK for you.  Regarding shipping damages, I was told by a rep w/ one of the main shipping companies that if a package is insured for at least $1,000.00, then it is handled by hand, and not run on the overhead tracks, where, if a box catches on one of the supports, it is just pushed off of the line with a long pole.  But I've had shipping damages of things that were insured for well over that figure, so who knows?
