B1B Keven
Is there any interest in new gauge faces for early '50 cars?
mackster
depends! I want my gauge faces redone on my 53 desoto. I want them painted red or black. i havent made up my mind yet... is this something you would do???
B1B Keven
Yes. If there's enough interest in having them printed. Do all the gauge needles in your DeSoto pivot from the bottom?
B1B Keven
How many cars look like this? Dodge, Plymouth or DeSoto? I could even have the face remade (I think). One piece would cover where the writing is. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1951-PLYMOUTH-50-49-52-PLYMOUTH-SPEEDOMETER-INSTRUMENTS-GUAGES-HOTROD-RATROD-/271144636599?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f217ad0b7&vxp=mtr

RobertKB
That's from a '53 or '54 Plymouth. '51 and '52 have some writing on the chrome surround/bezel but the gauges and speedo are the same except '51 the gauges are black with some black on the speedo also. B1B Keven
Kinda like these?
RobertKB
No, the gauges are just like the ones in the '52, 53, and 54 Plymouth but black with white lettering. There are some on ebay for the '51 Plymouth. Here's one. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/NOS-MOPAR-1951-Plymouth-Oil-Pressure-Gauge-/4581652017?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item111167631&vxp=mtr
B1B Keven
OK. The look is different, but the size is the same? All bottom swingers, yes?

B1B Keven
How about the speedo? Same shape, different look?
RobertKB
Same shape but has some black on it around the top and silver below like the later ones. Most people would not know the difference. I just happen to own a '51.
B1B Keven
OK. Once I come up with the correct shape of the gauge faces and speedo, it's not hard at all to change colors and fonts. Wanna be the guinea pig?

Wanna be the guinea pig? I appreciate the offer but all my gauges and speedo for the '51 are in pretty decent shape. However, I am sure there are lots of guys on the forum ready and willing to be a "guinea pig".
