Joe Flanagan
Guys, I'm ready to install the glass run channel in my car and was wondering if anyone could give me advice on how it attaches. The manual shows clips, which I don't have (except something like a retaining tang at the bottom). Has anyone done this before? I'm wondering if I'm supposed to resort to contact cement like I did with my 56 Chevy. I used that and some very small screws. Thanks for any help. 58prostreet
Joe, Check item 2435 at Restorations specialties. I used on my '52 Dodge. Bob
mackster
Joe, I used 3m black on the side rubber and contact cement on the channels. The clips are great original way to hold tem in place but mine were missing or destroyed upon removal...
RobertKB
Joe, I would buy the clips from Restoration Specialties. At some point, you may have to remove the channel if you have to replace the glass or remove it to make repairs to the wind-up mechanism. If it is glued in, especially with contact cement, you would ruin the channel. Take your time and get the clips is my two cents worth.
