pflaming Posted March 9, 2014 Report Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) We 53-54 Mopar owners are so lonely. Everyone seems to have a dedicated website, except us. I too am a fan of the 53 - 54 Mopars with a '53 Plymouth convertible (in storage) and a '54 Bellvedere Station Wagon on hold. I hope to get back to suburban in June and the convertible this fall. You are showing some very, very nice vehicles. I have looked at a number of 53 - 54 Plymouth/Dodge dash color combinations. This one with the island as the dark color is really nice. Thanks for sharing. Edited March 9, 2014 by pflaming Quote

James_Douglas Posted March 9, 2014 Report Posted March 9, 2014 Congrats on the nice car. I have a question. By chance does the rear window (plastic) have a bottom zipper and come out? On my 1949 Desoto it appears that the original tops had zip out rear windows. I have a service bulletin on it. But, I have never been able to find an original top to get photos of it. Best, James Quote

Best, James I'm pretty sure I have seen a car just like this before. Usually several manufacturers made the rear window so that it would zip down, but I don't think they were made to zip out completely. This is just my observation since I have owned my convert paying attention to them. Not real solid facts by any means. Quote
dodge59 Posted March 10, 2014 Report Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) DCurrent here is a pic of top rear vinyl window . I just don't have a good pic of it .. not sure if it even zips out .. I'll check . I really haven't started to work on her yet.. the cold weather set in real quick here and that's where I ended on it . john Edited March 10, 2014 by dodge59 Quote

pflaming Posted March 10, 2014 Report Posted March 10, 2014 I like the '53 - '54's because of their size and style. To me the '55's are getting bit too modern and large and the previous years to my eye are just a bit boxy. Now that is purely personal because I do like the 51's also. I think it's the flatter hoods that draw me. Anyway, JMHO. Will be watching you fine tune that beauty. Quote

dodge59 Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) say captain I have a question for you : on my 54 dodge royal convertible I need the front fender molding spears .. you know the front clips are shorter on the convertible , hdtp and wagons but what about the dodge CL CP 2doors ? does this model have the shorter front clip also ? the fender molding spears are 2.5" longer on a 4dr 54 dodge royal . . . please chime in if you other member might know. my 54 dodge convertible has the raised eyebrows along the front edge of hood that adjoins into the fenders by the headlights .... anyone out there know of this style fenders and hood , i'd be interested in buying it. ( both fenders and hood) . I seen alot of 54 meadowbrook dodges 4dr and 2dr that have this style hood and fenders but not sure if that is the shorter front end clip. Thanks guys ! john Edited March 11, 2014 by dodge59 Quote

Young Ed Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 You mean that they only zip down Ed? When you zip them down you take the risk that they won't go back up Its typically a challenge to get them zipped back up. Quote
