It looks like the vin plate says B-3C-116. '52 or '51?

It's clean, but too glossy in many areas and the wide whites...well, I think we all agree on them.

Overall a very nice truck, though.

That truck has the very rare double stacked rear over load springs! 13,000 mile original-hmmmm. Has had rust up in the front end too. Kinda purdy though except the aweful wide whites! Someone spent some $$ on it though back in 1991.

all that work, but they couldn't get original dash knobs for the lights, choke, and throttle.

looks like it leaks on the passenger side, probably the windshield (floor mat has discoloration).

still, pretty nice looking truck.

I noticed that where the wireharness for the rear taillights comesout at the base of the sides of the box there is a hole put there is no grommett to prevent the wire from getting cut by the sharp edge of the metal. Think there should be something there.

Also question the Radiator hose and also the modern hose clamps.

Also question the paiting of the head black and the motor is paitneted silver.

Also missing the strips in the bed between the wooden slats. Also the wooden slats should be painted black and not a varish. Hershey has now chnaged their judging on this If this is a Sr truck then whay so many items to be incorrect. This just shows that their judging has some questionable aspects.

Also did anyone see the Senrior bage that should be onthe truck to prove it is a Sr winner.

I am a car owner so just my thought on the truck.

But still a nice truck and you can put it in my driveway any day.

the missing fender bolts?

Yep. Bondo'd over!

Somebody didn't know how to paint... did you see the orange peel all over that rig? Would look a lot better if it was cut and buffed like it should have been. And that sure looks like a late 60s or early 70s Lincoln Jade Green...

And were interiors black in that series or still moose poop brown? I can't remember, I know mine was brown but had a blue seat (from the repaint in the 58-63 time frame, same time it got a P15 engine). Same radiator hose mine had, generic parts store piece.

I kinda like the white walls, but not on cream or white wheels. If he was going to run whites he should have had black or green rims. Mine are Ford (Old) Dark engine blue, they are getting wide whites courtesy of a new friend from the car side of this site.

oh, the things I noticed that may not have not been pointed out:

the rear plate holder is incorrect

rear fenders are incorrect for the listed year (unless I'm backwards)

gas tank wrong color

dash badge wrong for listed year

rad hoses are wrong

rear fender bolts not painted

fuel line filter wrong

wiring harnesses wrong, too taped up

wrong hose clamps for era

wrong "gommet" by starter pedal

door stops wrong

rear view mirror mounted wrong

tailgate not detailed with argent

DOES have a passenger side mirror tho

since I've actually tried VERY hard for a true resto, I see these little things that drive me nuts....all in all a nice truck, but definitly not a show winner with as many issues as we've seen.

I'll bet that truck was a real looker 20 years ago and pretty unusual to find at a show of any type, regardless of the flaws we see in it. It's obvious it's show condition has deteriorated over the years and has inaccuracies.

Someone's personal choices on what looked good. May not have made same choices I or others would have but I can appreciate the effort.

No one seems to have noticed the throttle cable isn't hooked up. Im thinking those cables are recent. Way too bright and shiny for a 20 year resto. Primer on the heater hoses and the air cleaner has some wet sanding residue on it. Lot's of little things to do to make it a show winner again (if ever) but it would make a real nice driver.

Maybe we really shouldn't be so critical about some of these vehicals that come up for sale. Someone at the time made it a real nice truck to their way of wanting it to be. I think a lot of this nit picking possibly is just showing how knowledgeable a lot of us are when it comes to what an original PH truck or P-15/D- 24should be like. Odd no one says much when someone here is modifing a good original car or truck and turning it into a Ratrod/street rod or some other modified something. I don't care for perfection or modern modifications. A nice stock ride is good with me!

Now about those really ugly whitewalls and cream wheels.. They are so UGLY!!! They need to go:D

while I agree with you I also don't. If you are trying to sell a "restored" "show winner" don't have that much wrong w/o expecting it to be picked apart by people with knowledge.

Biggest problem is the sellers statement that it shows as well now as it did in '91. That's kind of an open invitation to nitpicking. It wouldn't win a trophy today unless there were only 2 or 3 in the class. Not being harsh, just being honest. For show winners today, it's all in the details. More and more owners are going the extra distance to get the details right. Whether it's stock, modified or custom it's still the details. Whoever buys it wants to take it shows will have to do some work to make it a winner. Most of the hard work is already done.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but to my eye, too much white/cream. That grill is just TOO much. A '53 Chevy in the same condition . . . $18,000?

The truck is nice, but I would not buy it. The ad states that it is an original survivor, then contradicts that statement with 'restored'...it may be someone's pride & joy, but as someone who is knowledgeable of this truck, the only way it would be a show winner is if it was the only truck in its class. The wheels look late 50s, the marker lamps are from a car, the taillight brackets are homemade and mounted high (not a bad thing, but not OEM), the starter pedal has some accordian boot from who knows where, the wiring is neatly re-done but not entirely similar to original, and those door catches are nice but I think they're from a Jeep. What really caught my eye was the passenger mirror bracket, as I've only seen those flimsy things listed in the parts book. Whoever buys this beast may enjoy it for many years, but I'd rather fix up my own ride

well get used to the look, because come spring this kid is gonna have a passenger mirror that looks just like my drivers side! :D I also hope to have a "proper" in-cab rear view.

Is it just me or is the bed from a 116" frame placed on a 108? Looks 8" too long in the rear fender well.

Not a bad looking truck, sure there are some minor flaws and mistakes from the Bunn perspective, but the person was probalby just doing what they thought looked right at the time.

Hank :)

P.S. If someone here is the bidder and they don't want the hub caps, I'll take them off your hands. (you can keep the tires though)..:D

Did anyone notice that the sidemount hubcap was different than what is being used on the other wheels.

I am not sure if this truck was judged in 91. It has a Green sticker for the Green Field and in 91 that would have been a dirt field.

If buying hte truck you would have to point out the flaws to the current owner which also might not be the person that restored the truck. And since it has the Hershey sticker they might also think it was a perfect truck and then spent too much for the truck.

its your money if you buy it but go over the truck before putting the final dollards to on the truck.

Defeinately notan AACA Senior winner. Maybe a 3rd Junior but still int he Junior category for points.
