Thats the kind of hemi I want. I'd have a hard time spending that much cash on it when it could have a cracked block. The last one I had needed a sleeve in one cylinder because it was rotted through into the water jacket! This one having the OD does sweeten the deal though.

They are great nostalgic looking engines..defines the era...but for the money and in stock form..most little v6's will blow it away..yeah yeah you can build it..but why buy a dead horse when you can get a late model SMPFI engine in just some 226 cu in with 210 ponies on board mounted to a late model 5 speed or AOD auto...

Sure Tim, but if that was all we were worried about we'd just go down to the dealer and buy any number of small cheap cars and get all that and great mileage to boot!

It's just cooler to look under the hood and find something like that. I'd rather have my old flathead 6 than a late model SMPFI engine - not even sure what this is, but it doesn't sound too cool.

Anyway, just my opinion.

not me...don't want the new car..just the new car improvements..like the old looks..if I am going to modify I am going for the balance of economy with added performance over stock with a late model package, parts availability at every corner big box store..nostalgia for me is in the body style and that is about where it ends....but we all different....
