transporting a door from Eagan MN to MId Mo?

ggdad1951 was so kind as to pull a door I need for my panel truck. Now it's at his place in Eagan, MN. I'm hoping to find someone heading from that area to Central MO, or at least closer, who might not mind giving it a ride. I guess the time constraint is however long he can stand to have my junk in his shop.

Along the same lines, I'm heading from central Missouri to the Texas coast via I-35 to Austin this weekend. If anything needs a ride along that route hollar quick! Could even be a car if you let me know soon enough to hook up the trailer. As of now, I'm only hauling a '57 35 hp outboard motor.

I'll be coming back in about 3 weeks.

That is sure closer - is there a place to leave it? I occasionally get up that way and may find someone to get it on down sooner.

A couple years ago I transported a 1911 Evinrude from Near St. Louis to Indi, someone there took it to northern Michigan, then the buyer in Canada came across and carried it home. Some of our toys tour more than we do!

Is this another forum members meeting in the making for Marks house?

Im headed to Minneapolis around the first weekend of october to pick up a couple of od trans. Im not too sure what the marks house is. I can store it at my apartment in Ames IA till the middle of December, then I graduate and start looking for a job, I can store it at a friends car dealership in Des Moines after that if need be.

Mark=ggdad1951. He's the one with the door you might pick up. Now I wanna know how you snagged OD trans out from under me!

That makes more sense now. Overdrives are out there, it just takes awhile to find them, I have two more that are almost ready for ebay, just in time too as tuition is due in a couple weeks....

Thanks go out to Mark and Ed for finding the door, Mark for storing it, Mark again for delivering it to a friend of mine who was in Minneapolis, and my friend who drove it back this morning.

It's friends like this, including some, like Mark, who I haven't met in person, who make these old cars even more special.

By the way, I'll be traveling from Austin, Texas to central Mo next week in my new Dodge dually with an empty bed. Does anything need a ride?
