Bobacuda Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 I have searched the site and it has really been helpful in taking my B4B's door windows apart for rebuilding. The Steele catalog has been less than useful looking for truck parts. I also saw that DollyDodge and several others had pretty bad fit issues with the wing vent seals. So where are the happy customers getting their parts for the door windows? I would really appreciate a good source, a list of the parts you purchased and a fit so good you would use them again. Has anyone used Andy Bernbaum Auto parts for their doors? Thanks for your help in advance. I would really like to order the parts and have them on hand before I start the painting process on truck. HanksB3B Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 Andy Bernbaum is sort of out of the picture (he either sold or has let someone else manage the business) Gary Roberts is very good at what he does and most likely has everything you need and can certainly answer most if not all of your questions. His online catalog is anything but exciting (yes I've seen worse) but you'll be able to get everything you need from him at a reasonable cost. Gary gets my vote. http://www.robertsmotorparts.com/truck_parts.asp?Action=search&c=Trucks+%2D+Rubber%2C+Weatherstrip+%26+Related+Parts Hank Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 I recently bought some rubber products from Roberts..while not installed yet I foresee no problems..the rubber has a good feel and as such I expect good service..however time in the sun is the ultimate test for rubber products..most here have had good luck with Robert's I believe..I have found that shopping around pays off in many respects, not all high dollar parts is high quality..I can list many said items that are inferior to that of other makers in rubber products and offered for 1/3-1/2 the price but these are mainly for cars as I have not done a truck in years..though they do service some trucks. Don Boger Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 Bookmarked that for future reference, Thanks! Quote
ggdad1951 Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 I got lots of my door window parts from Roberts...but Gary doesn't have all the parts you need, what you can't get from Gary, you can get at automotive restorations (rubber bumpers and a more correct division bar felt). I did get my wing window seals from Steele when I ordered all my other window rubber and they seem to be good. Quote
Mark D Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 Bernbaums operation still thrives and relocated to a new address in the same city here in Massachusetts earlier this year. My office is located about 8 miles away from their location, I took the occasion to visit recently to purchase 21 new head bolts. The operation was neat & orderly, morever the staff was curteous and quick to serve. Casual observation revealed twelve 10' rows of vintage mopar parts stacked on double deep shelves, and the operator told me they had only sorted 10% of the inventory at that time. As for Roberts Motor Parts, I have nothing to say but good things about them and their operation. Gary is a wealth of info, and I had chance to visit his shop to buy a head gasket from his operation recently. I also bought a complete door and cowel rubber kit and the product recevied was outstanding. I have never bought from Steele but have heard that they are the vendor to call on if you want the best match for OEM rubber. Quote

That's good to know. Although some did, I never had a problem with Andy. He struck me as the kind of businessman that wanted to focus on specifics and if you talked over him with a weak knowledgebase he'd get hasseled. I wish him well with whatever he's doing now Hank Quote
