buds truck Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 I spent a good part of a weeks vacation getting all the crud out of the garage that got packed in there when we moved in 7 months ago. It is now about 80% done, the welder is partially wired (need a breaker switch, I need to hard wire in the compressor instead of the quick hookup I stuck on it 6 months ago and I will be ready to rock and roll. I can't begin to tell you how much I have missed working on the truck, but getting the home and acreage in shape had to take precidence. I snapped a few pix to show what it looks like. I plan on getting the truck hot wired enough to start it within a week or two. Gotta go over to the west side of the mountains tomorrow and stay for a few days. Son has his divorce and custody hearing and we need to be there. Quote

TheMoose Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 That's great! Moving can be a big pain, I'm pretty sure I won't be doing that again! Nice shop you have to work in, nice & clean! I'm out of space in my "shop", since I don't have an attached garage on the house my shop gets used as a garage too, well no more! Just getting bids in to add a 30x30 garage to my shop, so everything that is not a tool is getting moved to the garage & I'll have plenty of space to work in my shop, for now at least! Quote
carl b51 Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 Bud it's good to see you back on the truck. Carl Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 and in two months you will be looking to enlarge the shop...you can never get enough floor space for the shop it seems... Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 (edited) for real, I built what I thought would be ample here at the house when I moved some 18 years ago..so I adjoined some 74 foot across left and across the back of this original Georgia farm house with overhead storage/lay down and stairs access..I have since added a 20 x 24 addition on the far end with 13 foot wall to accommodate my lift..best thing I had done for myself in support of the hobby. I have a barn that is quite larger, I never work in the barn it is for car projects storage only..I have an alteration of the interior in mind and material on had to execute the change and also entertaining one more addition to the barn...but I do not store finished cars in the barn..thus the shop shrinks for usable area to work because of a couple finished cars sitting in my way..I do not know why I keep them..I like working/building over driving these things..got to get my priorities straight I guess..sad parts is..I'm addicted to the hobby..one is never enough..heck 20 is never enough... KJ's Dodge Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 (edited) Nice to see you are all set up again Bud! I don't know what you plan on doing for glass but I have a large vertical wet glass belt sander if you what to whittle down the original glass to fit you chop. If so let me know and I can load it up for you to borrow. I will be coming through there two or three times over the next month. It came out of glass shop and most of the time just sits idle in my machine room. You may be standing there awhile but I think it would get the job done. KJ Edited June 8, 2012 by KJ's Dodge Quote
buds truck Posted June 8, 2012 Author Report Posted June 8, 2012 wow!! great offer, I have none of the glass for it anymore except for one door piece and it is not worth cutting down. There is a glass shop in Othello that I will probably just make patterns for and have them cut it (if they do that sort of thing). If they dont have the knowledge to do that, then I may have to take you up on that offer. I will send the pm with my address for wednesday. Bud Quote
