1955 plymouth
was wondering if anyone has ever used a 4 speed floor shift tranny to replace a three speed column shift set up? I have a 4 speed from a '52 B2B and I might want to install this into my '50 suburban...Anyone know if this might fit without too many mods? Would the top speed rpm be dropped if this were to be done, like an overdrive? Thanks
Young Ed
Nope the 4spds are still 1:1 in top gear. All it gets you is a stump pulling first gear. And lots more of the 4spds aren't syncro. It would also be quite a bit of work to swap it into a car.
1955 plymouth
yeah, I have it just sitting complete, not sure what to ever do with it. I suppose I will just hold onto it until something comes up.
Plymouthy Adams
there is no short cut to a floor shifter for the early cars..unless you happen along and find one of the kits from way back when..these were superceded by the flux capacitor
