BobT-47P15 Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 If you zoom that picture down to about 50 percent, its a lot easier to see. Quote
Don Coatney Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Looks to me like the guy installed the hubcap upside down:rolleyes: Quote
Frank Elder Posted November 6, 2011 Author Report Posted November 6, 2011 If you zoom that picture down to about 50 percent, its a lot easier tosee. But then you won't see the details of the rim or the hubcap. Quote
Mark D Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Nice, looks real sharp! Love the color Combo. Quote
Big_John Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Looks to me like the guy installed the hubcap upside down:rolleyes: That's because he's using a left hubcap on the right side. Quote
Don Coatney Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 That's because he's using a left hubcap on the right side. Now I understand. There for a while I thought he had the front cap on a rear tire. Quote
old stovebolt Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 That's because he's using a left hubcap on the right side. or the photo is upside down. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 call me a prevo..but if the car was upside down when the picture was taken we would be viewing alot more than the hemline on the ladies that are reflected in the paint job.. Quote
Big_John Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Now I understand. There for a while I thought he had the front cap on a rear tire. No, if it were a front cap on the rear, it would like this: Quote
greg g Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 A couple of my aquaintances, who a Porshceaphiles, insist that whenever your car is parked on the show field the tire valves should be a 2 o'clock, and the hubcap graphics should all be correctly oriented both vertiaclly and horizontally. Should you need to jack up the car, rotate the wheel, and remove and re orient the wheel trim, so be it. As it should be part of your pre judging prep.............. do not forget to extend this procedur to the spare tire also. Just a little ocd for me. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 that could only be the owner of a 356.... Quote
Don Coatney Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Just a little ocd for me. A little goes a long way:eek: Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 loved the 916...they killed this project..cost was as high as a 911 of the time and it kicked 911 butt...in a very serious manner...very few of these pups still about.. early 911 and 912 (4cyl) slab sides..they were not then or now that attractive..it was only in the the later years when the 911 rear fenders turned up pregnant that the car took on a very gracefull appearance..add the whale-tail..like night and day.. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 the 356 series folks I would associate closer to the certain 4 letter club type of baggy checked pants and BCGs than the 916 or any of the 911 series..peak design..930 Turbo.. Quote
