Rodney Bullock
I went up to Carlise Thursday and had a very eventful trip. I saw alot of stuff however there was just one thing that caught my eye. I have been dreaming about it ever since. I can't get my mind off it. I will get me one of these before it's all over. It's not over priced and it's very stylish. You all have seen these many times but never gave them a second look. It's not a mopar so don't get to sore:mad: You must admit they are nice. 1954 Lincoln Capri
BobT-47P15
Those Lincolns are nice. More class than a Merc. That hardtop is cool.
T120
..I believe you'll find that is a 1953 Lincoln Capri,Rodney. The 1954 trim was a bit different.Very nice cars with quite a history in the Carrera Panamericana racing in the early 50's.I owned a 1954 Lincoln Capri 2 dr.It was very good on the highway
Joe Flanagan
Wow, that is some car. It would have drawn my attention, too. I wonder how many are still out there.
greg g
There is a dark green over light green onne around this area that is set up for the Carrerra. Not just stickers and decals but roll cage suspension and tires. It is a bit wierd in that it is set up to run on propane.
oldodge41
I like the fifties cars too. That is a fine example. Good eye Rodney.
40plyrod
Here's one for you Rodney. It's a 55 though and requires a bit of a drive. I saw it in our local buy/sell sight awhile back and thought it was pretty cool, but as always there's either; never enough cash, time, or space. http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/1955-Lincoln-Carpi-Hardtop_12404603
1940plymouth
Our neighbor has a red '55 Capri convertible that is beautiful. Only thing is he never drives it as the tranny seals leak. I even think he wants to sell it now. It hasn't been out of his garage in a couple of years other than to get inspected yearly
Rodney Bullock
I have got to get one of these cars, I would love a convertible. The next time you see him ask him if it's for sale I would love to own a convert. I don't know why everyone doesen't have at least one in their area. We don't have a single one around here. Greenbomb
Hemmings Classic Car Magazine recently had a really good article about the '50s Lincolns. According to it your pictures are a '53, which is my favorite, BTW. Yeah, they are cool!!!
Oldguy48
I saw that car on Saturday at Carlisle. Wow !
Young Ed
Rodney this one might still be available. Needs work but from what I saw it looked quite restorable. Located in the vicinity of Aberdeen S Dakota.
greg g
since there seems to be a space where the Lincoln motor should be, one of those 800 HP Shelby Supersnake engines would be neat, Oh wait Rodney doesn't like snakes....

Joe Flanagan
That car actually does not look all that bad. I wonder what shape the floors are in. Looks like all the body parts are there and in pretty good shape.
Don Coatney
Looks like all the body parts are there and in pretty good shape. Hum,,,,wonder where the hood is? I never noticed but it appears that Lincoln's of that vintage had port holes on the rear fenders unlike Buicks front fender deal.
Rodney Bullock
I was looking at an old movie last night and suddenly realized why I like the old lincolns so much, The movie "The long hot Summer" with Orson wells,Lessremick and Joanne Woodward. In the beginning of the movie the two women pick up Newman in a Converible 1953 Lincoln Capri. It must have made a lasting impression on me:) or was it Lee Remick;)
Joe Flanagan
You were watching "The Long Hot Summer" last night? Wish I'd been there. I know there's got to be space for an extra chair in your man-cave.
