Anyone know how to remove the Brake Cam Bolts. I have one that isn't rotating as on piece and need to replace it...somehow. I can't get the dang thing off...it just keeps rotating.

I am at work now and figured i would do it on lunch break...but no luck. It's just sitting drum and tireless in the parking lot...any helpers???

They are riveted together as part of the backing plate. The one that Dad had that did this he just welded the two pieces back together.

Which cam "bolt" are you referring to?

There is a large bolt head on the back of the backing plate that does not unscrew. It just rotates the minor adjuster.

The brake shoe pivot points are also cams but they aren't bolts. To loosen/remove them, remove the hub and brake drum and you'll see flats that can be held with a wrench while you loosen/remove the nuts on the other side.

wow, you guys are quick!

This on a 39 P7.

Thanks for the info. The one i am referring to is the minor adjust cam one. I guess I will have to drill it out and weld it somehow. Dangit.:(

I don't believe Dad did any drilling. Just welding. Study it and see whats not moving with what. Only other real option is a replacement backing plate.

Exactly what problem are you trying to fix? Is the adjustment cam not rotating with the hex head?
