Hey all, 5 above, sunny no wind this morning, high of 32 today, our spring melt is way behind.

The snow in the fields is not deep, but in the ditches and the drifts are still huge.

Took the 47 for a spin down a section field road, it is frozen and dry this morning.

Note the frost in the back and side windows, up here we would install frost shields back in the day. The heater was doing it's job though, and it was decent warm inside.

You Southern Guys are lucky compared to us Northern Guys this time of the year, gonna be about 1-2 weeks before most of the snow is gone.

The 1 pic where you see the heavy wooded are, is where my home is situated, this time of the year I will see upward toward 40-50 Deer in a bunch coming out of the bush to feed in the fields. Saw a Timber Wolf on this very road last week, and up close.....

Fred,

Glad you had the Chysler out this morning, thanks for sharing.

Bright and sunny here today with the temp in the upper 20's with a stiff wind, making the temp about two below with the chill factor.

Hi Bob, I noticed it's cool all the way down to Texas, southern Oklahoma area, infact the weather seems cold for this time of the year.

Last year I had my car on the road, and no snow but the end of March.....

Do they use snow fence up there?

Growing up in the northeast corner of NY, snow fence was used along the flat windy areas to stop the drifting snow from reaching the roads.

My Grandfather also used it to keep the snow from drifting up agaist the cow barn also

No Bob, they don't although many people use them, and towns and cities use them too.

But the highways departments do not. A lot of our main highways run north and south, but Manitoba #1 Trans Canada Highway runs east and west, there is a bout a 60 mile stretch of this 220 mile piece of highway that gets snow blown in many times a year, the portion from the west side of Winnipeg( at Headingley), all the way to Portage la Prairie, gets closed lots.

East of Winnipeg is heavily forested, all the way to the Ontario border, western Manitoba is a lot of wooded land, and rolling terrain.

The Manitoba highways dept, could have planted shelter belts years ago to alleviate some of this problem, but of course did not. Luckily we have plenty of the best snow removal equipment you can find, no roads stay crippled very long....

Went for a drive with Zoe today, she loves to ride in the Plymouth. She is looking out at Lake Ronkonkoma in the pic. It is about 40 deg. here today and should be sunny and 44 deg. for the car show tomorrow :D.

Fred, that paint job looks really good.

Joe, it's mediocre, I have some runs in the paint, and few biggins at that. If there were no runs, it is not too bad, a 20 footer, can live with it fora while.

I am going to try to cut and polish those runs this year, will do a test first to see if it can be done. If that does not work, then new paint job in about 10 years.....LOL PS ask Aero 3113 and Pat s, they have seen the car in the flesh.....

Hey Fred,

Could you send some of that cool weather down this way? My thermometer read 98 this afternoon when I came in from the garage. This morning started out pretty cool at around 72 but changed quickly.:(

If I remember correctly, winter was on a Thursday this year!

Fred, I thought your paint looked great. Get a nice polishing machine after you get the runs out and it will look even better.

Just drive north into Oklahoma or Kansas, or have them shift some cool air down.

According to US National weather service, Texas is supposed to above above average temps and dryer than normal the next 2 months.

Current temps, Winnipeg Manitoba 30 f, Lethbridge Ab 37 f( gonna be 61 by Thursday), Joplin Missouri 35, Kansas city 32f, Tulsa Ok 45 f, Dallas Fort Worth 70 f, San Antonio Tx, 86f .... read em and weep Boys

Your wish is my command. If you look in the profile shot, you'll see the speedo at about 40mph and the gear selector set in 3rd. :D There was a stretch of 4 lane roadway (rt.146) south of Worcester MA that I did 45-55mph for about 10 miles, but the bias-ply wander didn't make for a very comfortable ride at all (read that as scary). I was happy to get off that road and be back on the side roads. I have to hand it to the guys that ran these cars at higher speeds during prohibition, everything I expirienced above 45 requires lots of guts... One thing I did notice after that 10 mile / 50mph stretch was some smoke coming from the oil breather after I parked the car.

BTW, the GPS is running off a portable jump starter that has a 12v cigarette attachement.

I see you have the user installed optional 1/2 horn ring. My car came with one of those too.

Hah! That made me chuckle... As a matter of fact it is, and unfortunately it was delivered that way to me. I also noticed that the center spoke has a crack as well. Looked at eBay this am, and found an NOS replacement for $175. think I'll try a few swap meets this summer before I lay out that cash.

Rhinebeck is coming up the first weekend in May, might be worth the trip to look for a horn ring
