55 Fargo Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Hey all, A Buddy of mine dropped over to see my 47s interior, He had no seen my car since my interior and many other small items have been done. Anyway he has this nice Golden Retriever male, and the Dog likes cats. My 1 female cat, she is about 1 year old now comes outside, and gets scared and goes up my tallest Maple Tree, about a 30 footer. So now I get dressed good and warm, pull out the 24 foot extension ladder, and go for the rescue, it is 0f, with a -20 windchill here today. My 4 YO Daughter sees this, gets all bundled up and comes out to see whats going on, my Wife following behind. I place ladder up against the Maple tree, go up, Cat is scared crapless, I am wearing a skimask type witner hat. I grab her, she bites and claws at me, and she bit through my leather gloves, I tossed he into a snow pile below, about 10 feet off the ground at this point. But she does not stay on the ground, but goes and rips up a tall Green Ash. This time I set up ladder, let wife go up, the Wife does not have the skill on a ladder like me, but she is small and light, so finally grabs the cat, she was actually right off the ladder, and standing on 2 smaller limbs, . I replaced the ladder, and My Wife, got on,and walked down, put cat in house, end of rescue. The cat is in deep hiding in the house, what a fun time, actually livened up a boring winter day..... Joe Flanagan Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 That's gratitude for you. I have two cats that I tolerate, but I love my dog. Maybe the reason cats were given nine lives was to make up for their unbelievable stupidity. Bring on the cat lovers. Quote
faucet47custom Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 I have 4 cats, 2 are strays that we took in and one of those two has the personality of a dog and is awesome. I did tell my wife that we are on the revolving door policy. Nothing comes in without something going out. Quote
Olddaddy Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 We are down to six, from twenty.......would you consider rescuing them? Quote

Guys I am not crazy about "cats " either, we have a few here, the kids love them, I like the fact they keep the rodent population down around my farm yard. But if it were up to me, they would be gone, I hate the cat hair, and litter boxes in the house, although my Wife keeps those dang litter boxes clean....they still stink IMHO Quote
55 Fargo Posted February 7, 2011 Author Report Posted February 7, 2011 We are down to six, from twenty.......would you consider rescuing them? Not a chance, although I will be quite close to you sometime in April, supposed to be at Disneyworld, but that is not 100% yet. I have 3 cats here, which is IMO, too much.... Quote
41/53dodges Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 we have 1 cat, and the thing has no personality whatsoever. we never see it, its always sleeping somewhere. it eats less than 1/2 bowl a day, but somehow craps about 4-5 times daily, and stinks up the whole f%$king basement! we come home from vacation, and we dont even see the little turd for hours after that, and even after that he may as well just flip you off! ungrateful little ****! T120 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 ..Good to hear Fred,I'm sure your daughter was impressed with your noble deed, glad to hear the cat is well..I don't believe my daughter heard me curse until a few years ago and she is now 43 years old.It was over in an instant - something riled me and it was an immediate reaction on my part but rather shocking experience for her to hear me utter those words. PatS.... Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Good on you and your wife Fred. A little to chilly for Sylvester to spend the night outside. I like cats as long as they belong to someone else Quote
randroid Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 Gents, We love both dogs and cats but we feel a dog should have the room to run that we can't offer so we content ourselves with only cats. Ogden Naish once said that the problem with a kitten is that it becomes a cat, and while we can agree with that, at least in part, it must be remembered that dogs have masters while cats have staff. -Randy Quote
