Frank Elder Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 http://www.coachbuilt.com/bui/l/little/little.htm Looks like he took 4DR or the longer version d24 and added a 2DR sedan back half to it.....I think it looks real nice. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 (edited) That Dodge looks a lot like the factory limousines by Chrysler. I remember one local funeral home back in the 50s had the longer Chrysler as a "family car" for trips to the cemetary. May not have been quite that long....but close. There are quite a few of those old fancy cathederal sided hearses hidden in courtyards and buildings down in Mexico. Sled on the HAMB has been living in Mexico the last two or three years and scouting continuously for old cars. He finds some of the darndest stuff......some in good shape, some not.....some for sale and some not. Edited January 6, 2011 by BobT-47P15 Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Posted January 6, 2011 If you want to wade thru a ton of posts from "sled" about cars he's found in Mexico, with quite a few pictures along the way, here's a link..........http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=183098&highlight=mexico Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Thanks for the link Bob! Lots of interesting vehicles. Ever wonder where most of the Volkswagon Beetles went to? My older sister used to travel to Mexico for her job quite a bit. She said she saw hundreds of them down there. Tom Quote
suntennis Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 About the VW Bugs, Mexico continued to make the Bug after the 70's, but they were not up to US safety and emission standards. Quote
Young Ed Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Ya I believe they made them into the late 90s Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I see quite a few VWs, in some configurations not used in this country, when we visit Mexican ports during a cruise. Quote
Frank Elder Posted January 7, 2011 Author Report Posted January 7, 2011 I guess I'll shift gears Quote
