BobT-47P15 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 On Friday, a friend and I took a road trip of about 160 miles one way to look at a group of cars, mostly from the 40s and 50s (a few from the 60s). Located in south central Missouri. They were accumulated over many years by a man who passed away several months ago, leaving them to his daughter and her husband. The lady is in charge of the cars, according to him. He just goes along to help. There were originally around 350 vehicles, but she has now sold about half of them. The rest (with a few exceptions) are for sale. They are in various conditions.....some very complete, others missing assorted parts. Some more rusty than others. Numerous marques were there, but I took pictures of all the Mopars and left out the Fords, Chevys, etc for the most part. The lady is keeping a 48 model P15 club coupe for herself. It's not all so bad actually. She's also keeping a 1955 Dodge "LaFemme", a car produced only in 1955 and 56. aimed at the female car buying market. Here's a link to the pictures....enjoy.......http://www2.snapfish.com/snapfish/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=5509374007/a=60456321_60456321/ Quote
Young Ed Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Wow Bob she's got good taste. That 55 LaFemme is a neat ride and quite valuable. Doesn't look like its rotted beyond help either. Quote
RobertKB Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 When I go to the link it tells me I have to get a Snapfish account to be able to view the photos. Not gonna happen so I guess I miss out on these pictures. Photobucket you can see other people's pictures without an account. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 13, 2010 Author Report Posted December 13, 2010 Hmmm......sorry about that. Try this one and see if it works.........the first picture that should come up is a burger and fries, had to have a bite before looking at all those cars.... http://www2.snapfish.com/snapfish/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=5509374007/a=60456321_60456321/ Quote
PatS.... Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Love to see the pics, but not gonna sign up for snapfish at all. Maybe you have to post individual URL's for each pic like Photobucket? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 13, 2010 Author Report Posted December 13, 2010 Maybe so Pat. or log in using my email "bmatoft@fastfreedom.net" and my password "hahaha" Gotta go somewhere this evening. If it still won't work, I'll mess with it some more later tonite. Quote

PatS.... Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 That worked, Bob. Interesting collection of cars and very reasonable prices. Try THIS link... http://www2.snapfish.com/snapfish/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=5509374007/a=60456321_60456321/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/ Quote

Good question......they may get done in time. The owners have had several things going on in the last year or so and still have some things to do. They've been learning about the cars in the process. littlemo Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I live in SE Missouri and would love to look over her collection. Any chance one could get the location of those cars ??? Quote
Young Ed Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Bob just looked at the additional LaFemme Pics. Its got a hemi with power steering and power brakes. However its got the 241 style valve covers with red ram stamped into them. Possibly someones been swapping parts. The special LaFemme storage containers on the seat backs are somewhat intact. Wonder if the special contents are still with the car? If they really intend to fix it I'd probably keep that 56 4dr around for parts. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 15, 2010 Author Report Posted December 15, 2010 They plan on keeping the 56....have parked both near their house. The lady named off the contents of those containers on the back of the seat...items for ladies. She didn't say that she has those items however. Is the motor mentioned the correct one for a 55 Dodge? If not, then it was probably a replacement one. The engine number in her 48 coupe started with "P15". Quote
Young Ed Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Bob a 55 dodge should be a 270 CI with a plain valve cover and a super red ram decal. In 55 the red ram was the poly v8. That engine has the 53-54 hemi valve covers with red ram stamped into them. Possibly its just had valve covers swapped since I believe they interchange. Also possible its got a 241 transplanted into it. They'd have to find the engine # on it to be sure. Quote
falconvan Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Your killing me here, Bob! I promosed my wife no more new projects until the 48 is done and I'm probably less than 100 miles from this place. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 17, 2010 Author Report Posted December 17, 2010 Indeed there are many projects lurking there......at pretty reasonable prices. She's doing what many have wished.....selling stuff affordably. They all need work, some more than others.......some are more complete... some missing lots of stuff. Numerous brands.... Fords, Chevies, Pontiac, Buick, a 42 Studebaker, along with the Mopars. A few trucks still there too. Quote
