dezeldoc Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 I posted that one awhile back, got to have a real big set to do that! Quote
PatS.... Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Could only watch until the little bent rebar steps...not enough money on the planet for me to do that. Quote
central52 Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Talk about Jack and the Beanstalk. I started to get vertigo watching it. Wow. Hats off to those climbers. Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I was alright until he started the free climb. I done tower cranes but you are always inside the structure (not to mention a few hundred feet, not a thousand:eek:). As soon as he started the free climb I was jumping in my seat. That's insane! I wonder why they blurred the face of the partner? Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted December 13, 2010 Author Report Posted December 13, 2010 Did you see those small parachutes on there backs? What were they for? Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Did you see those small parachutes on there backs? What were they for? In case they drop there tools:rolleyes: Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Did you see those small parachutes on there backs? What were they for? ???? I can't see anything that looks like a parachute. The shoulder straps would be for their safety harness. The red bags are for their tools. It looked like their may be a small bag dangling below the waist but is sure didn't look like a parachute. old stovebolt Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I don't like heights.....I try to keep both feet on the ground.... Quote
49 Dodge Dude Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 We have an 1100ft tower here in our area. One of my co-workers actually went up in that thing. You take an elevator part of the way up, then it's climbing the rest of the way. He said the view was spectacular from up there, but the tower sway of about two feet each direction was a bit unsettling. Quote
thrashingcows Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I didn't think I was afraid of heights...guess I was wrong.... I was sitting here with sweaty palms and restless in my seat watching that...the free climb was very unnerving. Hats off to those guys!! Quote
