Crankshaft/Timing case alignment tool

The manual calls for an alignment tool which slips onto the crankshaft. The timing chain cover is then slipped onto the tool which aligns the seal in the cover. I can't find the tool, does anyone have a work-around?

the timing chaing cover is aligened easily later by leaving the monting bolts loose..then using your own lower pulley/hub assembly you insert it onto the shaft then snug up your cover bolts...this is a required procedure anytime the cover has been removed.

I have a lathe and I made a tool.When I get home in the spring I will gladly post a picture if you want.It is just a cone shaped insert that fits snugly in place of the damper.The big advantage over using the damper is that it is smaller and easier to work around.Jim C
