MarkAubuchon Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 I have a 1948 1/2 ton Dodge. The cab has several rotten spots, am debating to fix them or try and find another cab. What years are the same as a 48? 49, 50, 51, etc. Also is there anyone who makes replacement panels. Quote
Dave72dt Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Cabs are very generic although there some small difference with some of the dirt shields by the front cab mounts. Body panels are pretty much salvaged from a donor or a DIY patch . Quote
MarkAubuchon Posted November 24, 2010 Author Report Posted November 24, 2010 Do you think that a 51 would fit? I have the all of the sheet metal, hood, fenders, bumper etc on the 48 right now. Quote
Reg Evans Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Yes but 51 was the first year for the different gauge layout Quote
sniggle_t Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Things I know are different on the 51-53 cabs from the 48-50 cabs... - Different dash - Different drip rails - Different seat riser - Different wiper configuration - I also believe there are minor differences to the floor pan. The cabs are interchangeable though. Quote
MarkAubuchon Posted November 29, 2010 Author Report Posted November 29, 2010 Are the cabs the same size for a 1/2 ton the one ton. Quote
