so what do you guys think? should I go ahead and replace my motor mounts? anyone ever see them go flat like that? from the look and feel I think they are original to the car straight from the factory. Im thinking about trying my hand at making some out of poly and see how it goes. anyone know of a source for a few small blocks of poly?

Thats how they go after 40-50 yrs, they are easily obtainable and worthwhile replacing tho' you may have to readjust your gearshift linkages..........andyd

They are composed of rubber for a reason, and that is to stop the engines vibrations from transferring to the frame.....if you use "solid" motor mounts, you won't like it.

I know that the mounts are made of rubber and can be rebuilt or bought new, I was just thinking about the polyurethane as an experiment to see how they feel on vibrations. if favorable then there is a new option that wont degrade like rubber. if not so good the can always use tried and true parts.:D
