Frank Elder Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 www.sonnyssalvage.com On July 31 dodge, chrysler, plymouth, and Desotos! Decent prices for whole vehicles....soon to be closed to the public. The crusher is next I suppose. Minnesota yard Quote
faucet47custom Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Anyone going there for a parts run before they close? They have a bunch of thingsI need, and I don't think my wife will like me paying to transport a parts car from Minnesota. Quote
Young Ed Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 I'm hoping to. I talked to them at back to the 50s and they claim they aren't crushing yet. They said they are going to go internet only. I suspect they are tired of sitting around waiting for someone to show up and buy something. Quote
faucet47custom Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Do they pull parts and ship for you, or do they just try to sell whole vehicles? Quote
Young Ed Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 They do sell parts. I'm local so I can't say if they ship. I will warn you the cost of the parts excedes the cost of the whole. Wouldnt hurt to email and see what they say. FYI they are plum out of overdrives...... Quote
claybill Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 they are also plum out of fulton type visors. been there twice. she starts out high but will fade a bit with prices...especially if in a pile.! actually she has no idea of rarity of things or pricing..she guesses. a fun place..easy to get to and browse. i remember there being almost a dozen '40-50's plymouths. claybill Quote
PatS.... Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Nice Dodge grille for $100 http://www.sonnyssalvage.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=37 Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 A couple of years ago we lost an area old car salvage called J & M. The owner's health declined.....no one wanted to buy the complete yard......so he closed it out. Right at the last, before the crusher, he would sell stuff pretty cheap....like all the contents of an old school bus, whatever they were, for $100. Sold some cars - most of which had been pretty well picked over - for $100. Now, it's all gone. Not much left to find around here now. Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 If someone knows of a old car yard around Melbourne, Fl. area, let me know. Tom Quote
claybill Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 it's a very nice accesible yard run by a young woman with a day type office job and her brother that isnt involved much....i didnt see anyone hanging around with a wrench.!! the woman(owner) is there only part time as her schedule allows. i think you have to 'browse and pull' yourself. a nice place, lots of cars. friendly.! bill Quote
