Here's a little something I put together with all the info i could scrounge..some of my own research..and a lot from the great guys on this forum.

I did not use the method 1 or 2...I set the gap with the oil pan off...so I could see the cam lobes....and then checked it while running.

Anyone ever used method 1 successfully? I tried it a few times and can never get good results from it.

Setting cold with pan off according to valve/cam location...or setting hot wile running seem to be the only good ways.

Thank you very much Powerhouse. That is great. Too bad its not the clear in the shop manual. A copy of that under the hood while I'm trying to adjust valves will make it much easier. Pure genius.

If you're referring to the stage A/stage B method in the technical archives, no, I haven't had luck with it. For some reason, they have you adjusting the intake valve (I think) for cylinder 2 twice. I wound up having trouble with that particular valve afterwards. I ended up adjusting them with the engine running.
