48P15Annie Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 About a month ago, we brought the Plymouth home from my grandpa's condo (my cousin is living there now) so I could work on her and get her ready for a big Orphan Car Show here in MI next Sunday. I clay bared & waxed the body, repainted ALL emblems by hand, removed all exterior light lenses and cleaned them out, polished all chrome, got a new trunk handle gasket and a few more things. Still on the prowl for a few parts, but she still looks great! Here's a few pics, hope you all enjoy! For a lot more pictures, feel free to visit my CarDomain page for Annie. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2482258 Thanks for looking! Quote
wldavis3 Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Kyle, "Miss Annie" looks mighty fine. Good job on your detailing work. Your grandpa would be very proud of what you have done with his car. Quote
RobertKB Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) That is one SWEEEEEEET car!! Congratulations on making it look so good and the detailing is great. That dash is to die for. Enjoy your grandfather's car and know he would be proud of the care you take of it. Edited May 31, 2010 by RobertKB Quote
steveplym Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Your car looks great! Very nice work. It cleaned up very nice. Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Kyle, car looks good. May see you in Ypsi. Some of the local Plymouth Club members are planning on attending the show. Not sure who is going to have their cars there. I'm pretty sure Don Woods has his '31 PA roadster entered. Our Detroit Region meeting is this Tuesday night, will find out then. Paul Curtis may have a car or two entered. Ed Quote
48P15Annie Posted May 31, 2010 Author Report Posted May 31, 2010 Thanks for all the kind words, guys! Ed, if you see the car at the show, come say hi! Quote

48P15Annie Posted May 31, 2010 Author Report Posted May 31, 2010 Hope she drives as go as she looks. Doesn't look like an orphan anymore, looks to have a caring home......... She drives perfectly. And she does have a caring home! And she's never alone for she shares the garage with my 1974 Monte Carlo te-he. awsome condition, great color! i love it! like it has been said here earlier, your grandpa would be mighty proud of you...what is the name of that color, do you know that? Chevron Blue. Wish my grandpa was here to see how great she looks! Wish I would have had the opportunity to paint the emblems a long time ago - he would have loved it! Thanks everyone! Quote
insaneradio Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) Beautiful car!! I am envious! I must admit I am a little surprised of the color of the arm rests. My P-15C has the original interior as yours and like yours mine has burgandy arm rests. I was told that they had probably been recovered. Now that I see yours I am satisfied in believing that mine may be original afterall!! Great looking car. I am certain your Grandfather is looking down and is quite proud of what you have accomplished. Glad to see it stayed in the family. Equally as happy you kept it original and not chopped and hot-rodded it! It is just too good of shape for that. Hats off to you! Dave Edited May 31, 2010 by insaneradio spelling Quote
48P15Annie Posted May 31, 2010 Author Report Posted May 31, 2010 Thanks Dave! These arm rests, to my knowledge, have been recovered. Also there is more padding in the driver's side than the passenger. I was told on the forum here that originally they came with the same upholstery as the door panels. Quote
DonaldSmith Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 I'll have my 47 Suburban in with the DeSoto folks at the Orphan Car Show. Come on by. My big brown car is so big that you can't miss it. And I'll be over to see you Plymouth guys. That Annie car loooks sweet. And I want to meet Lakota. I've talked with him before. I've seen photos of his car but not the real thing. Quote
48P15Annie Posted June 1, 2010 Author Report Posted June 1, 2010 Donald, I have seen your DeSoto before! One slick ride you got there Quote
1947PLEVY Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Nice looking car... one day mine may look like that...John Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Niiice.........good work. Drive and enjoy! Quote
Cpt.Fred Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 thanks for the name of the color! i put it down here for future use, who knows... as for the color of the armrests, the fragment i found in my P-10 had the same color, since the rest of the interiour is tan i thought as well it would have been put in there randomly. funny thing if it should be original, maybe i should try restoring it... JohnS48plm Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Kyle you car looks great. If you or any of the members on the east side of the state want a nice show to go to the Mopars at The Red Barns is coming up in July. Last years show was just featured on the My Classic Car show on the Speed channel. It's always a good show and it's all mopars.JohnS Quote
Edward Roberts Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Dave, Kyle, and Cpt. Fred, As far as I can tell my '46 has the original interior (except paint and the table cloth seat bottom) and my arm rests match the door panel material. Have to say I prefer the maroon look, and I'd guess that it would hold up better (dirt from hands, hardier material) under normal use than the door panel cloth. Quote
Edward Roberts Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 The 1962 Imperial Custom blew me away! What an amazing ride. And the '69 Mod Top Baracuda. Felt like I was watching Laugh-In. There's a beautiful red Panel Van on the site that I wish they had featured on the show. Quote
JohnS48plm Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 The red panel van is a 1940 Plymouth sedan delivery. Tonight I am setting up the distributor for it. It belongs to a friend of mine. The engine in it is a 1953 stock Plymouth flathead with three speed transmission. It's running poorly on the Pertronix that was in it so we are going back to points with new plug wires. JohnS Quote
