james curl Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 (edited) That needs to go back to the powder coater, too many holidays in the finish, too thin around the bosses and corners, has a large discolored spot in the middle of the side. I think one could do a better job with paint and a good spray gun. I got better coverage on my short block with rattle cans in MoPar blue three years ago. If I paid my money to have it powder coated I would expect a far better job than that shown in your pictures. No offense meant but I find that unacceptable from a professional powder coat company. May-bee I just do not under stand how things are done in NY City NY. If you did that type of work in Texas for money you would soon be out of business, we expect better. But then we are a right to work state, few unions to put up with. wow when I made this post all that was above the last picture of the side of the block was a lot of lines of code that meant nothing to me then after posting went back and all of the pictures and no more lines of code. I guess my computer is just too slow, its a four month old Dell PC. Edited May 27, 2010 by james curl addition Quote
55 Fargo Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 I thought this was just rattle can paint on this block, is that powder coat? Mike is that your Coupe, what happen to the acid dip, is that zinc chromate primer or what on the body. Quote
michael.warshaw Posted May 27, 2010 Author Report Posted May 27, 2010 the powder coat came out mint, but the engine builder got it all dirty so any dirt or discoloration you see is just surface dirt. didnt acid dip it, that is in primer ready for paint at the shop. no they are measuring and doing the floor mounts. Good or not Mikey, those pics are huge, try and reduce them for ease of downloading and size usage. Thats great your camera is an expensive piece of equipment, (conspicuous consumption) sociological term for flash and cash. I find my $100 Samsung camera works good for posting on the web. But my car is probably worth less than your camera was new, but she is burning gas, which is what I like...........LOL Quote

james curl Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 One question Michael, what do the initials H.A.T.E.R.S. stand for? I know that I am pretty dense when it comes to all this tweet and texting thing, but what does each initial represent? Please enlighten me, as it might be interesting. Quote
michael.warshaw Posted May 28, 2010 Author Report Posted May 28, 2010 does not mean anything individual, its spells out hater, some post above was commenting on my spelling, from a blackberry where i do alot of posting its hard to spell words correctly. Quote
greg g Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 Playing the Hater card again! Whats up with that???? It's a rhetorical question. Quote

james curl Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 For my information, what does LOL mean. Lots of Luck, Look out Loser, Laugh out Loud, or some other combination of words that I have not thought about? I see these type of initials and others in posts everywhere and I have no idea what to make of them. As you can see I might come to the wrong conclusion and get angry or my feelings hurt or maybe just laugh out loud. Quote
michael.warshaw Posted May 28, 2010 Author Report Posted May 28, 2010 laugh out loud i believe mr curl . Quote
greg g Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 Note to Blueskies, I think it might be time to break out the meter........ Quote
JoelOkie Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 can you spell H.A.T.E.R.????? It's not my spelling that was wrong hot shot. If you were spelling for a bucket of crap you wouldn't even get a smell. Quote
RobertKB Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 As a retired teacher of English, I notice there are a lot of poor spellers on the forum. However, a public forum is not the place to worry about poor spelling, punctuation, grammar, or sentences. Most people on the forum type quickly and do not worry about the niceties of the English language, or editing their work. This is not the place for formal English, and errors of the kind mentioned above are nothing to get upset or critical about. Please, let's stick to old Mopars. Quote

Look, there is nothing at all hatefull about pointing out a funny typo. It's strange to me that someone would take that as having been hateful. The fact of the matter is it was Michael that brought up spelling, not me , asking if I could spell HATER, for whatever that has to do with anything, and I don't personally care how anyone spells, so before you attempt to jump down my throat in defence of him please take time to go back and see what was said in the first place. I agree, let's stick to MOPARS...maybe you should point that out to him? Joel Quote

greg g Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 (edited) Kinda reminds me of the fellow who has to have the lastest and greatest golf clubs. Breaks out his new driver and hits a towering shot 320 yards down the next fairway over and blames the club, take out his new putter and leaves the ball 2 feet short and blames the putter. 10 years ago I was shooting in the 80's with a set of clubs from a well know discount emporium. If my ball went in a non intended direction, I was fully aware where the fault was. So I either addressed it or worked around it. I did not go to the best golf store in the area, plunk down two weeks salary for another piece of equipment. I am not a craftsman by any stretch of the description, but I do take some pride in understanding and trying to use what I have to the best og my ability. I do not have the best spelling, nor do I always employ proper grammer or punctuation, and I most times hit the send button, before proof reading. However I do have enough care to go back and edit stuff that is way out of parameter. My email in box has shown on several occasions that something has been sent originating from a black berry. In most occasions they are legible, ad uderstandible. There maybe som letter transposition from thick thumbs, but you can excuse some of that. Granted this is not a literary forum, grammer forum or punctuation forum, but the basic language is engilsh, and I believe most of us passed it at at least the 6th grade level. Lets all try to reflect that for the ease of others participation. Edited May 28, 2010 by greg g spelling, grammer, punctuiation Quote

Joel I am not defending anyone in particular, just noting that the thread was off topic at that point and could we please return to the topic or maybe it was time for the thread to end. My thread was not aimed at any one forum member, or supporting another, and I am sorry if I caused offence. I agree the typo you mentioned was funny with a one vowel difference from a well known type of establishment, but then things went weird. Let's just stick to old Mopars. Quote
JoelOkie Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 As I have tried to convey, I didn't say anything about anyone's spelling in that initial post. I am probably one of the worst spellers there is, and have to look a couple of times at each post to make sure others will be able to see what I am trying to get across. Funny how this has turned into a "don't judge other's by their spelling or punctuation issue". The fact is I pointed out what to me was a funny typo, not in derision, or disdain. Then the guy comes back at me about hating. Well, who's feelings are on their sleeve? It is was my typo I would be the first to laugh. Talk about blowing a couple of words out of all context and proportion! If someone comes back at me with teeth bared, yeah, I will get my back up as quick as the next guy. Silly reaction to someone noticing a potentially hilarious typo. Geez.... Joel Quote

Mikey, might there be a bit of delight in the negative attention you receive, any attention is better than none, isn't it; for some people. I agree with you and the others that state, Let's get on track with Mopar talk. Why is it, your threads become a battle ground, you might want to re-think what is going on here. I for one am getting real sick of the nonsense associated with Michael Warshaw bickering threads, it is getting reallly Old, and tiresome. Edited May 28, 2010 by Rockwood s.p.e.l.l.i.n.g. Quote
