steveplym Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 On my '47 218 I have an external oil filter. I changed oil in it the other day and it took 6 quarts to get to full on the dipstick. Is this correct or should it be 5 with the oil filter? I did drain my filter when doing the oil change. So I wondered if there is 5 in the crankcase and 1 in the filter housing. Quote
greg g Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 I think the manual specifies 5 1/2 half so I would check it for being over filled after runnig it for a while. Quote
aero3113 Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 My 50 Plymouth manual (218) says 5 quarts, 6 if the filter is changed. Quote
