Greenbomb
I was looking for a 230 Dodge motor. I found an IND 30. Looked around on the archives and found some info that said it was a 230. Cool! So, I go look at it to check it out and it's a 25 1/2" long head. Rats! So, is it really a 230 or is it a 228 that just gets called a 230? I'm confused. Some more. Again. Can anyone 'splain this?
Andydodge
Greenbomb........the 23" engine came in 201, 217.8 and 230.2 capacities.........the 25" engine came in 218.06, 228.12, 250.6 and 265 capacities..........so you can see where the confusion arrises...........the 217.8 and 228.12 are different length engines, likewise the 228.12 and 230.2, both different engines............now are you sure about the IND230 being a 25" engine as I have a 230 Industrial engine and its DEFINATELY a 23" , 100% certain.............its gunna replace the 201 in my P11 Coupe........sounds like you need a 228 Dodge engine.........lol.......gets confusing doesn't it ............lol.......regards, andyd
Greenbomb
Yeah, it said IND 30 on it and it measured 25" long. Somewhere in the archives I found a chart that said an IND 30 is a 230. So, something doesn't add up. Oh well, I guess I'll just rebuild what I have.
